Microsoft VS Apple - 10/26/07 11:01 AM
As of today Microsoft still controls about 90% of the pc market but Apple is slowly starting to chip away at its dominance.  I am MSFT is trading at 35 and some change and might finally make a move to the lower 40's for the first time in years!  Appl on the other hand is trading at 185 and some change and does not look like it is looking back anytime soon. 
Who here on active rain will buy a new apple with there new leapoard OS loaded on it or will everyone stick with the PC with Vista.  Just curious … (3 comments)

For those of you who are locals in Horry County and decided not to attend this years Loris Bog-Off you missed out on one of the biggest festivals in Horry County in a long long time!  We had over 185 vendors, some of the best food around in the South, and of course elephant ears!!  By noon the Crowds were well over 20,000 strong and they stayed around unil well after the concert!
We had a display booth there and recieved some great exposure in the local market and had a great time as well meeting everyone in town!  What a day!  … (0 comments)

Okay people having lived in Ohio and South Carolina and I have been able to see some very unique homes, developments, and attractions.  One thing that is starting to bug me is the fact that the new trend down here in Horry County is these cookie cutter developements!!  All the developer is concerned with is slapping up homes, hoping the yankees come down and buy a home from them. 
First of all I have seen first hand what happens when developers fail to plan or offer variety!  The foreclosure rate in the midwest is horrible.  Is it because the developer got greedy?  … (5 comments)

Okay Active Rainers we have witnessed the stock marktet hit new highs this year, plenty of ups and downs too!  Google has just hit a new high and surpassed the $600 dollar mark!  With GOOG offering every type of "free service" to the consumer what is going to be there new level in terms of price?  Should they do a split, say 2 for 1 or 4 for 1 or just keep it as is and keep going?  I love there services but at the same time are they starting to become to big?  What is everyones take on this? … (3 comments)

Its been a crazy two weeks in College Football already with all the top teams falling like dominos!  Is there truly a dominate team this year?  I do believe that LSU has what it takes but they are very beatable!  My Buckeyes (OSU) has a defense that just gets better and better each week!  They might just move to number two this week in the polls, But we still have a long season left and Im not about to get excited yet!  Heres a thought maybe with all these home sitting on the market maybe we should rent some big screens … (14 comments)

I am curious about this topic and I  am looking into what they call an unlimited IRA.  Now to my understanding is that you can buy real estate in this IRA but all expenses must be paid from the IRA and of course all profit goes into the IRA.  When I mean Real estate I mean anything that pertains to it, including land.  Also from reading I see that you can never use the Real Estate for personal use, it must be for investment purposes only.  Also another benefit from it is that you do not pay taxes on any of … (0 comments)

People today I checked our MLS expired and bam we had 445 listings expired!  We have a lot of lots and condos still flooding our market...And guess what all these listing agents that thought they could promise everyone top dollar are starting to bleed now.  People do not realize how much money goes into land just to get it to be usable.  I believe that all these marketing dollars from these listing agents are just making, marketing firms rich and now the consumer is starting to get educated at the same time!  Now we are going to a Real Real Estate … (2 comments)
