Well it has been over a year since DOCKS opened for business in Wauconda!!! The decor is great, the menu should please all taste, and the bartenders are friendly. What more can you ask for?? Stop in and say hi and let me know what you think? After a few opening hiccups this restaurant has come into its own. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, & I highly recommend you give it a try.

The story of how we got to WAUCONDA, ILLINOIS from Brooklyn, NEW YORK some 34 years ago is odd, but the reason we stayed is not. My wife Nancy had family in the Lake County area, so we thought we would find a place to rent before we made a commitment to purchase a home. Back then many of the (acceptable) rentals, would not rent to people with kids. (against the law NOW) We tried many of the nearby towns to no avail.
