kitchener waterloo: Biking And Bus Transit Join Forces In The City Of Brampton, Ontario, Canada - 08/09/10 10:46 AM
Bike racks on buses to encourage bike riding and an alternative for when you just can't ride your bike anymore was an ingenious idea. The Grand River Transit here in Kitchener-Waterloo has been doing it for a while now.
Al & Peggy have written these great tips to, as they say, "make your ride a smooth one".
As a courtesy, comments have been disabled here. Leave any comments you might have with Al & Peggy, please.

kitchener waterloo: Looking for a special owner for a special dog - is it you? - 07/21/10 02:17 PM
Hello, my name is Ciara. I am a one year old, spayed female, black and tan Dobermann. I didn't always look as good as my picture. When I first arrived here at the Centre back in February, I was far from being the good-looking girl that I am now. I was and still am suffering from Generalized Demodectic Mange. What is demodectic mange you ask? It is a skin disease caused by tiny mites that inhabit everybody's bodies. When your immune system is very low, like mine was, the mites take control. The end result is a dog that has lesions … (14 comments)

kitchener waterloo: A Little Bit of Waterloo Region's Heritage on Canada Day - 07/05/10 09:40 AM
On Thursday, July 1 - Canada Day - The Doon Heritage Cross Roads hosted an open house. I hadn't been there since on a school field trip many moons ago, and neither had hubby, so we decided to take a stroll over. (We live about 5 minutes away).
There had been a few changes from what I remembered. For one, they had decided to focus on the year 1914. Why?
According to their Web site:
Waterloo County was at its most well developed as a distinctive culture. The eve of the first Great War was the exciting end of an era … (8 comments)

kitchener waterloo: Canada Day is This Thursday - 06/29/10 01:48 PM
Canada Day is July 1st, which is this Thursday.
If you're looking for something to do with your family then the following web site is the place for you to visit. It's just full of fun things to do in Kitchener and surrounding areas:
http://www.kwkids.com/CanadaDayEvents.aspx
And remember: Although your pets are a part of the family, it's probably best that you leave them at home to relax. Sometimes the heat and crowds will stress your dog out, and fireworks aren't good for them either, if you happen to be somewhere that'll be doing them.
