We have been big fans of using "self hosted" video, in fact, we hate it when anyone's "public" video platform gets shut down.  Some totally deserve it, but some get banned and lose all of their content because they are reported maliciously.
That is one of the reasons that we use Self Hosted platforms.  The other cool thing that the Video Platform we use does is Video Tracking.  It allows me to watch where it was watched, how long, how much, where, on what sites, what the most popular device was and how many times it was embedded.
