lapd: Santa Clarita Radio - Mondays at 1030am Pacific Standard Time (PST) - 02/05/12 09:33 AM
Santa Clarita Radio Stations are few and far between.  We have a local "traditional" radio station that has been at the top for a long time.  The mission of our Santa Clarita Radio Station, a "non traditional" web based one, is to not be about sponsors but real people.
People starting businesses, people that are "real" wanting to talk about themselves and their business.  More importantly, what is they do to give VALUE to their clients?
Our Next Show, This Monday at 1030am, can be listened to live by anyone calling the "Call In" number at:
(805) 727-7098

lapd: Have you ever met a Top "per" Producing Agent? - 11/18/11 11:15 PM
Top Producers, I think if we are still alive in this market, we are all Top Producers in our own right.
However, have you ever come across that Top-per Producer?  Those that very sacrificially tell you how much they are better than you?
They are also quick to let you know they have a better story than you do when it comes to protecting and representing your clients.
This came to mind recently when when I was reminded of a time when I was on the instructional cadre during the time when we were training Valley Bureau with the LAPD in … (2 comments)

lapd: Special Programs for Police Officers and Deputy Sheriff's... WATCH OUT!!! - 08/25/10 08:03 PM
Being that I was a 17 year regular with the LAPD and a current Reserve, I have seen my fair share of "good deals".  In fact, it seems that every time someone was telling me that I was special and was getting the best deal in the world - I was taken as sure as the sun is hot!!!
It has reared it's ugly head again, this time with two Detectives with the LAPD - a Husband and Wife Team - were almost taken being teased with a $500.00 rebate to use a specific "special program for law enforcement" lender.
Lending … (0 comments)

lapd: Isn't everything Attitude? - 08/18/10 12:19 PM
In Sales, Real Estate or otherwise, Attitude Rules!
Attitude stems from personal choices.  There are several ways to look at your choices.  Before I delve into the ways to look at every situation, I must first state the following facts.  We are all created equal.  I might not have been born with a silver spoon in my mouth.  My parents might not have left me anything but love and wisdom.  I know not the way I will depart this world.  But no matter how I exit, I want to make sure my stay has been the best it can be.

lapd: Paris911 Owed to the Men and Women of Law Enforcement and Fire Departments - 12/18/09 01:41 PM
Some of the Real Estate Agents in the world are geographical farmers.  We have based our business on what we know best and that is Police and Fire Service Members.
For the past 11 years, we have been the keystone with regard to Law enforcement and Fire department members, keeping our focus on Safety and protection.
It has indeed kept us on the cutting edge via technology and mechanically being able to add to our Transparent Real Estate nature.
I have read, and reread many publications that ascribe to keeping a transparent view of Real Estate and also modified some the … (2 comments)

lapd: LAPD after hours get together with friends. Non real estate related. - 03/31/09 12:53 AM
Posting from the iPhone is really incredible. I just wish the app were allowing it with picture being able to be uploaded. I spent time tonight with the men whom I used to serve. We played some poker and discussed old times. These motorcops are some of the most brazen in the law enforcement profession. We also had a Deputy, head of security and me. A x motorcop and current LAPD reserve. It was fun and as I'd I had never left. I guess technically I have not. A room of heroes with a common thread. Anyone of these man would … (0 comments)

lapd: Why do we forget so soon? - 02/24/09 10:40 AM
Where were you in 1990?  Do you remember the Savings and Loan fallout?
June 17, 1990, I packed up my car about 1000 miles away from Los Angeles in my home town of 30,000 people.  I loaded the car with every possession I had and kissed my mom and dad goodbye.  I was going to Los Angeles to fulfill my DREAM of becoming a LAPD officer.
I arrived a couple of days later and had about 200 bucks in my pocket.  I was not sure what I was going to next.  I had tested before with the LAPD and was just … (3 comments)

lapd: RE/MAX of Santa Clarita and RE/MAX of Valencia - How is your Broker? - 01/14/08 10:48 AM
We did not start out with RE/MAX.  We made our rounds like most agents do when they first get licensed.  It is more than choosing a Brokerage, the owners have to be cut from a substance that is similar in nature to what you are made of.
Having said that, RE/MAX of Santa Clarita and RE/MAX of Valencia are one in the same.  John and Alice O'Hare are the owners.  I must start by saying that I appreciate and believe in the RE/MAX business model.  Their (RE/MAX's) book "Everybody Wins"is a must read.  But from what I can tell not all Offices and owners … (0 comments)

lapd: Boot to the Head. - 12/25/07 11:31 AM
As always, I seem early to rise.  It is quite a testament when I am logged into Active Rain, commenting, writing, discovering, etc...
Active Rain has been a great inspiration to me and our business.  Now that this year is coming to a close and 2008 is just around the corner, I must give my thanks.
I would like to thank all of you that have read, responded, got angry, were sad, shared my pain, and gave part of yourselves, and all the other emotions that we shared over the past year, THANK YOU.
Sincerely, I would hope you do exceedingly well in the … (4 comments)

lapd: Rob Peters - Our Buyers Agent Deployed - 11/02/07 06:30 PM
This entry is dedicated to the Men and Women of the United States Armed Forces.
Whether you agree with the war being waged in the Middle East or Not, one fact remains certain.  We have our children, and other American's children being deployed in that very dangerous part of this world.  Our thoughts and best wishes should always remain with them and their families in this time of need.
Closer to home, our future buyers agent, Rob Peters, arrived Yesterday at an undisclosed location in the Middle East.  Rob, is newly licensed and will be joining the Paris911 team upon his safe … (3 comments)

lapd: A "motor-cop" solution to a much more complicated problem... - 08/27/07 11:58 PM
I trust that my active-rain friends will be gentle with me concerning my "naive" solution to the housing market...
What if the financial institutions were made to extend the homeowners current rate on the adjustable rate mortgages for another two years?  Kind of like a renewal while the market strengthens?
What are the negatives if and when the fed lowers the interest rate?  Lets say two points.  (I know that is very unrealistic, while that would be good for home buyers, where is the "bad" in that suggestion?)
What would your solution be if you were the "HMFIC" for a day????

lapd: What I miss... - 08/16/07 05:56 PM
I was just at the computer shop having my laptop fixed and wondering if all of the data, that I procrastinated in backing up, will still be there after they get it to work...
Well no matter, I am sure my phone as most of my calendar inside of it.  I hope.  But if that fails, I am sure the people that I had appointments with will call when I don't show up.  However, I can always rely on my notebook that has my penciled in stuff inside and notes about meetings etc...
I was just thinking, you know something, I … (6 comments)

lapd: Is it ok to miss, or at least, parts of the past? - 06/10/07 11:50 AM

I am positive that I made the right decision to leave the LAPD after 17 years.  To allow me to continue to work full-time on a business I started with Paris more than 10 years ago.  But I definitely miss riding the Harley.  13 years, three serious crashes.  With having the "strength" or "craziness" to return to the saddle only expecting to be thrown again.  Note the slobber above.
Remember there are two kinds of motor-cops, "those that have been down, and those that are going down."
My utmost in respect goes to the BCMC's, Big City Motor Cops.  They can get … (3 comments)

lapd: True Power - 05/21/07 01:49 PM
What is true power?  I view true power as having the power to counter an attack, either verbally, physically, mentally etc, and responding with only the force necessary to stop that attack.  I have read that most people can handle adversity, but to test a person's true character, give them power.  There are many times in which I am interacting with others in my field and when I respond to their requests (sometimes unreasonable) and questions without hesitation and without complaining, they seem to view my relaxed and happy-go-lucky attitude as weakness.  To mistake a person's kindness as weakness is a … (3 comments)

lapd: Part III - How is your Grip? - 04/29/07 12:24 PM
The Grip as it relates to holding a hand fired or shoulder fired weapon is essentially the same.  You do not want to over do it, thereby inducing muscle tremors.  You want to have about 60-80% of your maximum grip wrapped around the stocks.  If you are at your maximum amount of grip then you will be shaking; vs. if you are holding it with an extremely relaxed grip, you will allow it to fly out of your hand during recoil, or become one of those dreadful re-grippers.
When I meet someone, the handshake part of the contact is very meaningful to me.  If the … (5 comments)
