What ever happend to "common decency?" *** www.patricia4realestate.com **Portsmouth NH Real Estate** - 03/30/09 07:57 PM
What ever happend to "common decency?"
Lately I've found that people are quick to let a door slam in your face rather than hold it open for you.
Customer service is very hard to find anywhere, especially in restaurants!
"Thank you" well that's a quick short easy word that means a lot, but often forgotten.
I was with a friend in her car the other day. We were parked at in the parking lot of a well know market in seacoast NH. Next to her there was a man who opened his drivers side door and it quickly hit her car … (16 comments)

CREATE YOUR OWN LUCK! What plan would you make? Portsmouth NH Real Estate - 03/29/09 03:40 PM
Success doesn’t just happen. It requires a conscious effort, planning and practice. I went to a seminar on this a few months ago and since then I have been making a conscious effort to make the decision to be healthy, wealthy and wise….
For sure the conscious mind is a powerful thing that we are all born with. However we  don’t always use  to it’s fullest potential . The speaker sighted a great example in Tiger Woods.  Do you think that Tiger Woods shows up in Augusta on the day of the tournament day  and blindly plays each hole hoping to … (2 comments)

BEAUTIFUL SEACOAST NH~ The Place to Be~ Location,location,location...~Portsmouth NH Real Estate** - 03/29/09 01:41 PM

                                                    LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION !

Location is the single most important factor that determines the value of your property.

Without a doubt Seacoast NH is the most popular area in which to live. With
only 18 miles of seacoast,  (take a look at the map) everyone wants to be on or
near the ocean.  This drives the popularity and the price!  Even in a slow market
the seacoast remains constant unlike towns that are located  inland. Resale is always good on the seacoast. The … (0 comments)

SIX GREAT IDEAS WHEN SHOWING A HOME!....~www.patricia4realestate.com~Portsmouth NH Real Estate~ Hampton NH Real Estate~ Exeter NH Real Estate - 03/25/09 06:22 PM
When you show your home, you want to engage the buyer emotionally because the decision to buy is based more on emotions, and less on logic. Accentuating your home's positive attributes, and minimize the negative aspects.
  1. The  Welcome
Although the buyer is a guest in your home, you want the buyer to imagine owning the home. You don't want to make the buyer feel like an intruder.

Don't expect the buyer to remove her shoes, unless you are selling to a buyer for whom religious or cultural reasons mandate it. Otherwise, the presumption is insulting. Leave the … (0 comments)

OMG....well I've finally done it!  I've hit another milestone reaching 80,000 points on Active Rain. I've been on AR for 2 year or so and at first I didn't do too much. As time went on I realized how much information is within the AR community and forged ahead.  It won't be long before I really hit the "Big Time" and reach 100,000. Yippiee Ya-hooey!  I'll be sure to let you know when I do.
On the 18.57 miles of land stretching from Seabrook Beach through Hampton Harbor, Hampton Beach, Great Boarshead and Little Boarshead, then up to Rye Beach and … (3 comments)

"THERE'S NO REST FOR THE WEARY!" ~~Portsmouth NH Real Estate ~~ - 03/23/09 06:52 PM
OMG....there's no rest for the weary...
I have this "friendly competition" going on with someone for the second spot in our Localism area. From one day to the next it's up and down, back and forth, second or third place....Ha! To funny but sometimes it's is a pain in the butt to keep up. Some days/nights I'm busy or tired and  don't feel like writing a blog post to keep ahead. However.....I like being in the second place.
Now I bet your wondering why I don't mention first place. Well here's the story. The first place spot is taken by someone … (11 comments)

"BE PREPARED!".....**Portsmouth NH Real Estate** - 03/23/09 11:36 AM
If I remember correctly the "boy scout motto is.."Be prepared!"Being prepared so something like the follow:1)  Are you entering each day with a plan of action? Do you start your day knowing what you need to do and having it on paper?2)  Do you start your day with a positive attitude?  It is my experience that wherever we set the bar in the morning it rarely gets better.      The higher the bar, the better the day.3)  Have you thought through the meetings you will have today and have you mentally prepared for any questions.  Remember, no second chance on a first … (2 comments)

THE VALUE OF YOUR HOME MR SELLER IS.....**Portsmouth NH Real Estate** - 03/23/09 11:22 AM
The value of a home is exactly equal to the amount a willing seller and a willing buyer agree to at a given point in time. It can sometimes be difficult or impossible to convince a seller of a realistic asking price, especially if they purchased their home within the past few years. I'm wondering what tips you might have used in getting this upsetting but realistic message across to sellers of your listings?  I'm hoping to hear from you so please comment.
Thank you!

18 MILE of BEAUTIFUL SEACOAST NH OCEAN FRONT ~~ Portsmouth NH Real Estate~~**Hampton NH REal Estate - 03/20/09 07:13 PM
On the 18.57 miles of land stretching from Seabrook Beach through Hampton Harbor, Hampton Beach, Great Boarshead and Little Boarshead, then up to Rye Beach and Little Harbor of the Piscataqua River in Portsmouth New Hampshire there is more beauty on this oceanfront than over hundreds of miles of sea shore in other parts of the world.
The rugged New England terrain hides pristine beaches, great snorkeling and diving spots, scenic roads and historic towns. Among the jewels of the New Hampshire seacoast is its Portsmouth NH Real Estate  properties of exorbitant value that hold their price even these days.

I'd LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! **Portsmouth NH Real Estate*** - 03/20/09 06:38 PM
I wish I had something interesting to say today but I don't. Actually, my motivation is a contest, so to speak, with another agent who is in my local area in Portsmouth NH and whom I like very much. Well she and I share from day to day, hour to hour, the second and third place on Localism in Portsmouth NH. Each of us every day do our comments and then a blog or two. It on going every day to see who ends up in the "featured spot" (that's second place). If I get lazy and I've been known to … (9 comments)

IN THIS MARKET...WHY NOT INCREASE YOUR COMMISSION ~~Portsmouth NH Real Estate~~ - 03/19/09 08:25 PM
I'm curious to know if you agree or not with the following:

1.Given the market at this time do you think that the listing period needs to be increase to a year?
2. Increase your commission
I've been doing this and so far it has worked well with those sellers I'm dealing with at this time. I explain to the seller that I have 2 to 3 times as much work to do in this market to "market their property."  With this said, it takes money to promote advertising their property and explain the various ways that I do this. … (5 comments)

"THE POWER OF THE PAUSE"...**Portsmouth NH Real Estate~ Hampton NH Real Estate~www.patricia4realestate.com - 03/14/09 08:26 PM
THE POWER OF THE PAUSE......
What do you do when a client/customer has an objection about a house?  Sometimes we are too quick to retaliate instead of pausing...to collect your thoughts and lower our blood pressure before you answer. Pause, think about what was said and be sure you heard the objection correctly before you answer. You should listen to the objection and do not cut the person off by interrupting, as if you are hoping to stuff the words back into the clients mouth before they finish what they are saying. You don't want to do this. It is rude … (2 comments)

20 MORE DAYS LEFT UNTIL SPRING!! ~~www.patricia4realestate.com **Portsmouth NH Real Estate - 03/01/09 10:49 AM
Yet another snowy day in the "Live Free Or Die State" of NH today. It's snowing quite hard as I write this blog and I've just listened to the weather channel with storm warnings for 8 inches of snow today and tonight into tomorrow. Yikes!!  The kids have missed so many school days they will be going to school this summer into July to make up for the days lost.  I would never have made it beyond a week, if that, as a pioneer. I hate winter and here I am a native New Eng lander....However, according to the calendar there is … (8 comments)
