running realtors in florida: Marathon attempt.... well, 2nd attempt in the fall - 02/13/09 04:36 PM
Ok -- it has been a couple of weeks and I really have not yet recovered from my bruised ego since the attempt at the Miami Marathon in January. I trained and did all that was expected and..... I just had a bad day....not just a bad day... one of my worst running days I can remember ...... My body just didn't feel like my own and I ached and dragged myself over the 1/2 marathon finish line.... embarrassed and so disappointed.

ING Miami marathon is soon approaching. If you are a running with a firm foundation, you can still register, if you haven't been running too long, you still can run the 1/2. We should have wonderful weather as usual. Why not spend a weekend in the sun - flights are cheap and the sand is warm! Registration is filling up fast. 10,000 have already registered and they are only accepting 15,000.

Since deciding to train for the Miami ING marathon, I have started a bit of conditioning, although early, I just don't want to start from scratch in Sept for the Jan. marathon. I decided to start my Sunday's with a positive attitude and a feeling of accomplishment. I am just running a couple days a week - with cross-training in between, but Sunday's are for the long run. My long runs only consist of 6-7 miles right now and won't advance until Sept, but I find this a good base. It also get's all the cobwebs out of my brain and allows … (5 comments)

Who is interested in getting a realtor team to run in the 2009 ING miami marathon? It is Jan. 25. Training would start some time in September and since I have decided to welcome my 5th decade, yes, turning 50 in Jan ---- with gusto--- I refuse to become a frump or one of those realtors that refuses to get their photo updated for their business cards --- you know who they are --- you take a double take when you see them in person. I laugh every time. Let's be proud instead of trying to fool everybody.
