The pros and cons of no-money-down mortgages - 04/18/07 01:28 PM
It sounds like a sweet deal: not only does the bank lend you 95% of the cost of your new home - it actually gives you the other 5%, the minimum down payment required to obtain the necessary mortgage insurance. Hence the name no-money-down mortgage (sometimes also called a cash-back mortgage).
To get one of these, you have to have a solid credit rating, and show steady and sufficiently high income to meet regular payments.
Alternative lenders have been offering no-money-down mortgages for some time, but as the boom in Canadian real estate showed no sign of busting, major financial institutions jumped in. … (1 comments)

I am selling my diesel car!! - 04/14/07 08:22 PM
Hey Guys...I have good news for commuters. With these high gas prices wouldn't be nice to have a diesel car?
Well, I am selling one of my cars. A yellow VW Beetle 1998. It is not automatic but it is diesel. The reason why I am selling it is because we are not commuting any more. If you want to know more about it let me know. It is just $8,500 and it looks great.
Obviously, this is just for people from Ontario, Canada!

My Dog is in a Home Made Diet.... - 04/14/07 08:16 PM
Listening to all these horrible news about dogs getting sick, I decided to put my dog in a home made diet. My decision was also based in the fact that my doggy suffers of allergies to something. He gets itchy and red every time he eats and also gets hot spots.
Since he is in this diet, he is doing great. He lost a little bit of weight but he was chubby. His skin has improved and I think he is loving it.
The diet is based in beans and rice (or potatoes) and now I am introducing veggies. Regarding the beans, it … (2 comments)

Always looking for feedback that I usually don't get - 04/14/07 08:09 PM
When other Agents show my listings, I always try to get some feedback to get to my clients. It also helps me with information regarding the property. What I do is to send an e-mail to the Agent that shows my listing. However just 30% of agents respond to this request. It would just take 1 minute for an Agent but Oh Well...
Thanks to the Colleagues that take the time to do it! It is very professional from them to take the time!

Waterfront, home costs put Barrie on top - Another nice article - 04/13/07 02:11 PM
Alberta and Russell Neice always thought of Barrie just as a place to pass by on the way to cottage country, but four years ago that all changed when they took a detour and fell in love with the city's downtown waterfront.
"It's magnificent," said Alberta, 68, from her new condominium overlooking Barrie's Kempenfelt Bay. The Neices, who had spent all their lives in the Steeles and Yonge area of Toronto, were so impressed with what Barrie had to offer that they put a down payment on a home in one of the new 16-storey condominium buildings on the waterfront. They moved … (1 comments)

Barrie desperately seeking affordable apartments - Nice Article! - 04/13/07 02:08 PM
TORONTO, March 15 /CNW/ - There are not enough apartments to rent in Barrie and those that are available are unaffordable for the average worker. These are the findings of "Where's Home?
The report is produced by the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (ONPHA) and the Cooperative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF).
"It's a volatile and disturbing situation," says ONPHA President Deborah Schlichter. "The people who drive this province's economy can't afford to live here now, even if they can find an apartment. And we have not built for the future."
The report shows that between 1995 and 2005, there has been a net loss … (0 comments)

Nice Real Estate Article - 04/08/07 09:09 AM
My husband just received his Canadian Business Magazine and there is an article very interesting. The article is "Where to Invest in Real Estate in 2007".
It is about how Real Estate Investments in international markets is growing, specially is South and Central America. Very Interesting!

Spring or Christmas? - 04/08/07 08:56 AM
It is April and I can't believe that my back yard is again full of snow. I had put all my winter clothes away but I had to put them back in my closet. What is going on? Can somebody tell me?
Yesterday, looking through my window, the day looked more than Christmas than the first day of April...buahhh!

Just finished my commercial Course - 04/01/07 11:09 AM
I just finished my Commercial Real Estate Course and I was wondering why if you already have decided that you want to work in residential, you must take this course. Yes, it was interesting but I had two put 3 weeks of my time in something that I know I don't want to work in. I think that this should be a choice. I also think that being a choice would make the market more professional. So there would be two different specializations: Commercial and Residential and you would need a license for each one or the one you prefer.
I don't think … (5 comments)
