Teaching KidsThe Truth...Regardless Of Phobeaphobes...!!! - 08/29/10 10:01 AM
My readers are smart enough to figure out what a ‘PHOBEAPHOBE' is...But let me help...You can't pickup a newspaper (remember them), without reading about some ‘PHOBIA' caused societal problem...We have Xenophobes, Homophobes, Technophobes, Islamophobes, etc.Listen to a media news presentation, and you will hear accusations of nativism, racism, intolerance, prejudice, ignorance, sexism, bipolar behavior, or the like...What has happened, is that the media has been taken over by self-serving, ‘progressive', atheistic, power mongering and greedy forces, such that it is almost impossible to find the truth, and this, in an era where information is available to us in an instant...These forces … (10 comments)

Fran's Friday Forum...Capture The Spirit...!!! - 08/27/10 11:24 AM
In my last post I wrote about ‘HATE', and the proper time to express it...!!!You can ‘HATE' onions or you can ‘HATE' politicians...One is no problem, the other may be counter productive...!!! You can figure out which is which...!!!You see, in our Country, we ELECT our politicians...and sometimes we are forced to survive under corrupt and wrong minded and misguided ‘PUBLIC SERVANTS' who have no vision for our Republic, but are totally self seeking and self serving...How is it that so many voters can be blinded by truth and select corrupt leaders...???I don't have an answer, but I know from history, that … (9 comments)

Should We Teach Our Kids To Hate...??? - 08/23/10 09:50 AM
We hear much in the news about condemning ‘hate speech' and ‘hate crimes', but we don't appreciate that there are some things we need to teach our kids to hate...STAY TUNED...Lest you think I have flipped my lid or gone over to the ‘dark side', let me assure you that it is sometimes appropriate to HATE...even Scripture backs me up on this...LET ME EXPLAIN...The dictionary defines hate: To have strong dislike or ill will for; despise. To dislike; wish to avoid: as he hates to work.Scripture, as I said before, in Psalm 97:10, reminds us, "The Lord loves those who HATE … (14 comments)

Fran's Friday Forum...The Buick Stops Here...Pass The Buick...!!! - 08/20/10 12:58 PM
For a few years now, we have been driving a 2006 Buick Terraza crossover...With 5 kids and two adults the 7 passenger seating and the rear seat entertainment package sealed the deal to buy this vehicle...!!!Of course with the economy being what it is, and the high prices of new cars, we opted to buy this 18,000 mile certified pre-owned which came with a warranty extending the original factory warranty of 3 years/36,000 to somewhere over 50,000 miles...!!!Shortly after the purchase, at approx. 27,000 miles a problem developed in the audio system...I use the term audio system because in today's cars … (6 comments)

Body Clocks And Other Predicting Devices...!!! - 08/18/10 11:42 AM
Aging is somewhat humorous and exciting...both at the same time...The first sign that comes with the graying of hair (if there's still hair there), is the innate ability to predict the weather...not necessarily current weather, but the weather as it's apt to present itself tomorrow...!!!Some say this is a result of arthritis symptoms becoming overly sensitive to weather changes...This is probably true, but doesn't account for the ability to rise from sleep automatically, reliably, and promptly several minutes before the alarm is scheduled to go off...On occasion, I've listened closely just to make sure there wasn't something about the alarm clock … (9 comments)

Catholic First, American Second, Conservative Third, Republican/Democrat Last...!!! - 08/17/10 01:45 PM
Many people I talk to today are disenchanted, even disgruntled with politics in America as it currently works...!!!I don't think the problem is so much with ‘The System', as it is with those holding public office...Do you see politicians acting as ‘Public Servants'...???Do politicians in general seem as though they look down on those of us they represent...superiors rather than equals...???Do individual politicians seem to be ‘God Centered'...???In civics, I was taught that the three branches of government were formed to be a system of ‘Checks and Balances', not individual power centers...The power should always be vested in the people and … (10 comments)

Fran’s Friday Forum...A Day Late...A Dollar Short...!!! - 08/14/10 11:02 AM
We arrived home late Thursday night from a well deserved, well earned, and long needed four day getaway vacation...Traveling with seven makes for some challenging decisions while vacationing...You want to enjoy everything, not miss much, and eat well...but budget considerations play a big role in all of this...Well, the vacation was quite simple...but we all had a great time...Oh, don't get me wrong, there were the usual back seat(s) bickering, whining, and arguing...but nevertheless, they did not put a damper on our enjoyment...We began our trip with a stop at Cooperstown, N.Y., site of the Baseball Hall Of Fame...Being a ‘baseball … (9 comments)

Fran's Friday Forum...Tribute To A True Little League Coach...!!! - 08/06/10 10:53 AM
For over three years I have experienced, or I should say a couple of my sons have experienced, what it takes to be a great little league coach...
Before I extol the virtues and talents of this coach, let me state a few facts which have a bearing on what I am about to say, and prove that this coach is human and not perfect...
This coach has an attitude about him...
This coach is somewhat disliked by some of his peers...
This coach sometimes argues with umpires over questionable calls...
This coach is way too hard on his own son...
