Fran's Friday Forum...Does The Teachers Union Truly Speak For All Teachers...??? - 10/29/10 09:40 AM
Listening to all the campaign ads on both the radio and TV, which bombard us with at least exaggerations, if not down right lies about candidates...I thought I would sit quietly and discern for myself where to draw the lines in this election... So.......Does the Teachers Union truly speak for ALL TEACHERS...??? Here goes... I, myself, believe in CONSERVATIVE POLITICS... I believe in PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY... I believe in FISCAL RESTRAINT...PARTICULARLY LOWER TAXES... I believe in GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT...NOT GOVERNMENT CONTROL... I believe in THE RIGHT TO LIFE FOR ALL PEOPLE...BORN AND UNBORN... I believe in FAMILY

Tubeless Tires???...No...Tubeless Toilet Tissue...!!! - 10/28/10 11:25 AM
You may have heard already that Kimberly Clark, makers of Kleenex, is coming out with toilet tissue that does not contain a cardboard inner tube... In fact, by the time you read this, Sam's Club and some other stores will already be selling these off their shelves... So what's the big fuss all about over something as simple as toilet paper...??? Hey, maybe this is the change we were promised in the last Presidential election... Is this tubeless toilet tissue a sign that things are really changing for the better...by the way, where's all the fuss

Should We Be Wearing RED, not PINK...Fran's Friday Forum...!!! - 10/22/10 11:48 AM
I can't tell you how many sporting activities we have participated in since early spring which have advocated and promoted BREAST CANCER AWARENESS by displaying plenty of pink...pink baseballs, pink bats, pink shoes, spikes, shirts, hats, lapel pins, ties, ribbons, etc... And this is all good, but are we as a culture missing the REAL point...??? If we are sincere in eradicating cancer, particularly BREAST CANCER, and I think most of us are sincere in this regard, maybe we should be wearing BRIGHT RED...which, to me, is more indicative of the serious threat that CANCER really represents... Are

We Have It All Wrong...Life In An Upside Down World...!!! - 10/18/10 10:04 AM
We live in an upside down world today...!!! It's a shame, but our kids are growing up in a culture that finds it difficult to tell right from wrong...in other words, we are paying the price for buying into the premise that there is no such thing as ABSOLUTE TRUTH... I'm OK, you're OK...If it feels good, do it...There is no such thing as sin...God is dead...Abortion isn't murder...These are but a few of the adages many people live by... But the statement that says it all is one recently made by the UNITED NATION'S ECO-CHIEF...

Fran's Friday Forum...It's About Choice, Not Change...!!! - 10/15/10 10:01 AM
Next month is a critical time for our country...a crossroad of considerable importance... The November elections, make no mistake about it, will be a referendum on whether we want BIG GOVERNMENT or LESS GOVERNMENT INTRUSION... And given my years of experience and education, and record of voting under both Democrat and Republican tents, this election is ONE OF CHOICE, NOT CHANGE... WE ELECT our representatives, GOD GIVES HOPE...!!! CHANGE comes about whether we want it or not, and comes regardless how we vote, but the direction our Nation and our economy take depends solely on THE NOVEMBER ELECTIONS... THE CHOICES

Peace Is Flowing Like A River...A Reflection...!!! - 10/10/10 11:16 AM
Have you ever considered or pondered THE MAJESTY OF THE SEA...??? Anyone who has ever been captivated by the sight of an ocean can testify to its power and its peace... I have seen the ocean when under the spell of a hurricane...it looked like a badly swollen body of water...seemingly higher in height than my very own eyes standing at the shoreline...I have also witnessed its calm...appearing like a sheet of glass...or a huge mirror affixed to the earth permanently, barely having any movement... In either case, the oceans, which occupy far more territory on the earth

Fran's Friday Forum...Title Insurance And Foreclosures...!!! - 10/08/10 10:57 AM
My good friend from Oregon, Todd Clark, recently asked if I would write a post on the current status of foreclosures from a title insurance standpoint... I am not an expert in this area, nor am I a lawyer, so what I offer here is very much anecdotal based on talking to some title insurance execs and counsel... The recent moratorium on proceeding with foreclosures by some large lenders is what seems to have precipitated the current interest in this regard...The underlying cause of these moratoriums stemmed from the foreclosing agents for some lenders handling these foreclosures in BUNDLES

Fran's Friday Forum...PAYDAY...Balancing The Political Checkbook...!!! - 10/01/10 11:27 AM
Balancing the political checkbook is not easy...!!! We have made far too many withdrawals and are way too short on deposits...and I'm not just talking about the economy... Sooner or later, the piper must be paid... Our system of checks and balances has fallen into disrepair...The executive and legislative branches of our great Republic have hijacked our government... Only the Judicial branch is left to rectify the situation... The Supreme Court, specifically, is the only salvific body left which has the power to re-balance the imbalance... Now, I'm no lawyer, and even less a
