An Open Letter To Catholic Politicians...LIVE BY THE RULES...!!! - 06/27/11 08:41 AM
The recent news out of New York regarding legalization of ‘same sex' marriage, and particularly as aided and abetted by Catholic politicians has caused me to write this post...!!!A message to ALL CATHOLIC POLITICIANS: Before you describe yourself as Catholic, please make sure you understand orthodox Catholic teaching and ALL that it requires...and then...LIVE IT...!!!For example: It is the duty of every Catholic to properly form and inform their consciences...!!! ‘Gay' lifestyles are not optional choices of living for Catholics...homosexuality is still a sin...we must love the homosexual, but hate the sin, including the lifestyle...!!! Abortion is murder...the willful killing of an unborn child...and (45 comments)
Fran's Friday Forum...John And Barack...!!! - 06/24/11 01:27 PM
It seems these days that every move our President makes is counter to my Christian beliefs...!!!I ask myself...WHY...???I respect the office of President no matter who resides there...I refuse to demean our President, yet unlike some democrats who will always aim to kill the messenger, I just can't be complacent about the direction our beloved Country is headed...!!!I will defend one's right to self expression, but I will also express my own views, particularly if they might help others to see The Truth...!!!Now, John The Baptist, was thought by some to be The Messiah, but his work was to herald the (8 comments)
Fran's Friday Forum...LOVE, SWEET LOVE...!!! - 06/17/11 10:41 AM
Fran's Friday Forum...LOVE, SWEET LOVE...!!!I recall the words of that old tune...I'm not even sure who sang it, nor who wrote it, but the words ring true...‘What the world needs now is Love, sweet Love, it's the only thing that there's just too little of...'Most would agree with that statement, yet, because of our language and its failure to communicate the true meaning of many words, the greatest need of the world, LOVE...goes relatively unmet...I've written on this subject many times before...I can LOVE my wife, I can LOVE chocolate, I can LOVE to read or watch TV, I can LOVE (11 comments)
Left Side Story...OUR GRAND EXPERIMENT...OR...Making Left Right...!!! - 06/13/11 11:19 AM
I remember as a young boy walking to and from grade school. The crossing guard, an actual policeman on a walking beat, would affectionately refer to me as ‘LEFTY'...!!!After many months, I got up the courage to ask him why ‘LEFTY' since everything I did was right handed...!!! He politely responded that when I step up onto the curb at the only busy intersection I would cross on my 3 block walk to school, I would always step up with my left foot first...hence the nickname, 'LEFTY'... It never dawned on me that I purposed to use that ‘left foot first' (4 comments)
Sunday Sojourn...A Just ForMatt...!!! - 06/12/11 10:45 AM
It's Sunday, the day after our 50th reunion celebration for the class of Bishop Kenrick High School class of 1961...!!!Renewed a lot of friendships and acquaintances last night. I sat next to a great friend, Matt Faust at dinner. Matt and I have a lot in common...we are both avid Pro Lifers and avid practicing Catholics...!!!Over the years we've been able to both attend the March For Life in Washington, and on the bus ride down and back to D.C. we were able to get caught up on each others family happenings...!!! Last night we shared our common desire to see (6 comments)
Fran's Friday Forum...50th Year Reunion...!!! - 06/10/11 10:00 AM
This Saturday, June 11, 2011, The Bishop Kenrick High School Class of 1961 will celebrate its 50th year reunion...!!!Of course I am a member of that graduating class and will be attending the festivities Saturday Evening...!!!One of our distinguished classmates, Monsignor Charles Vance, Pastor of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill, will celebrate Mass for the deceased members of our class...Following The Mass we will gather for dinner and socializing at The Crown Plaza Hotel in King Of Prussia...!!!In 1961, I remember thinking how ‘non descript' a class we were...it seemed our only claim to fame was that our class (6 comments)
Monday Morning Manness...Electricity And God...!!! - 06/06/11 10:11 AM
If you read the title to this post and guessed that it looked like a Fran's Friday Forum article...You were almost right...!!!Over this past weekend while my youngest son's 12U baseball team finished first in a local prestigious tournament hosted by the Boyertown Baseball Organization, this post was forming...Let me explain...In the penultimate game in the tourney, Jared, my youngest son, while sliding into home with the winning run, developed a buckle fracture of his left wrist caused by a pileup at home plate...Now, almost a year ago to the day, before his team took first place in a tournament in (4 comments)
Fran's Friday Forum...Baseball And God...!!! - 06/03/11 11:12 AM
Many of you frequent readers may already know of my deep love for baseball, particularly as I enjoy watching my youngest son trying to master baseball's deepest secrets...Before each game we say a short prayer...thanking the Lord for all the gifts he has given us, asking His blessings on the game and its participants, seeking His protection and safety for any injuries, and imploring His intercession that the game may be played fairly and provide fun and enjoyment for all involved...(read between the lines here)...Keeping in mind that for 12 year olds, baseball is still mostly instructional, (I never met a (9 comments)
