shopping off calories: 'FAT' FRIDAY...Fran's Friday Forum...!!!

I’m tired of hearing this day, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, referred to as ‘BLACK FRIDAY’...
There are no racial implications about my disdain for ‘BLACK FRIDAY’...AND...I’m fully aware of how the term originated...BUT...It carries a sort of depressing connotation...what with the beginning of ‘THE HOLIDAYS’...BUT AGAIN...
Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to call this day, ‘FAT’ FRIDAY...???
