Believe it or not Spring is really coming to North Idaho!  My daffodils and other perennials are up and growing here in Post Falls, Idaho.  So there is no better time then right now to make your spring cleaning list with actual dates to accomplish these chores.  Our homes are usually one of the largest investments that we have so we need to maintain and protect our investment.

We are so blessed that the educators in Kootenai County see the very strong benefits to offering an alternative to going to a college after high school.  That alternative is Kootenai Technical Education Campus. I have had the opportunity to visit another of the great companies in our neighborhood here in Post Falls, Idaho, and that company is SYSCO Spokane.  They are located out at State Line near Cabela’s.  They are a provider of quality foods to restaurants, hotels, and healthcare facilities.  They only sell as a wholesaler; so unfortunately as individuals we cannot shop there.  They provide services to their clientele  such as helping with nutrition, food pairings, and new ways to provide interesting ways to serve food.

Well, here it is, the first day of spring and we were greeted with a white landscape this morning, on the way into work.  March is certainly not letting go of our wintry weather very easy.  And here I had in my mind that it is time to plant the tomato seeds.  Guess I will hold up for another week on that project.  This is the time of the year that I really want to get out in the yard and start taking care of the winter brown.  They tell us that by Sunday we will be up in the fiftys … (1 comments)

Two Great Neighborhoods in Post Falls - 03/14/12 02:16 PM
We have two beautiful "horse friendly" neighborhoods in Post Falls and many people are not even aware they exist.  Brickert Country Estates and Big Sky Estates are only about ½ mile apart and are located south of Prairie just off Huetter to the West. They are not in the city of Post Falls but rather the county; so real estate taxes are lower.  The homes are on approximately 5 acre lots where horses and other animals are allowed in limited numbers.  Most homes have shops and they are in keeping with the CC&R’s so they are all nicely done.

What a great day in North Idaho!  Frontier Ice Arena has met their financial goal with the last $14,000 donation coming in the past week. 
 
Work at completing the ice arena which is at 90% completion and is now moving forward towards opening day in June 2012.  Our community has lots of kids and adults waiting to get on the ice to skate, play hockey and broom-ball.This new facility has space for birthday parties and other get-togethers so if you can remember to book your parties here at the ice arena it will help as they get up and running.

Body By Scotty in Post Falls Idaho, an auto body shop, is a great example of a small business doing great after many years of working very hard.  They truly started in their backyard in 1990, moving to their current location in Post Falls in 1995. Over the next few years they added more shop space and new office space.  They currently have 17 employees and have been faithful members of the Post Falls Chamber for many years.  I have personally experienced the fine work they do.

KTEC Technical School is getting ready to start hiring Instructors! - 03/02/12 02:10 PM
KTEC Technical School in Rathdrum is moving forward right on schedule with a September opening. 
 
Applications are coming in, and right now they have more applications then class space, so plans are being made to add a third shift. The highest percentage of applications are in the area of healthcare, followed closely by mechanics and manufacturing.
 
KTEC plans to be open for students from 7:00 am  to 9:00 pm with evening hours open to adults.
