There's a garden in Dunedin, Florida in Hammock Park, just off of Bayshore Blvd. It is located right next to St. Andrew's Historical Chapel. If you visit Dunedin, make sure you check it out. It is a perfect place for a bit of meditation, a quiet moment or a pictures. i took these pictures yesterday and even though it was a very warm summer's day, it was a delightful experience.

When I opened Celtic Realty in 2007, I was told by several that it was the "worst time in the history of real estate to open an office", yet we managed then and I am proud to say that we are managing now. I just hired two additional agents, one who was born in Dublin, Ireland!! Our hometown of Dunedin, Florida is a perfect place for me enjoy while living and working here. We recently hired Dunedin's famous "Orange" artist, Steve Spathelf, to paint a Celtic symbol on the front of our office and it has created a neighborhood buzz....enjoy!

Yesterday I was in a pensive mood and needed to take a break from the office. It was a day I needed to get out and enjoy my hometown of Dunedin, Florida. I brought along my camera so I could take some pictures to share of our quaint little town. Dunedin has lots to offer. You can start at the western end of town and find our city's marina which is a beautiful spot for a sunset. I've heard it said that since I moved to Florida some twenty years ago that I must be accustomed by now to not having a changing of the Seasons. Florida really does have a changing of the seasons, although it may not be as extreme as my northern friends and family, we do have some cooler weather and celebrate the beautiful fall colors just like other states do. I am always bragging about my hometown of Dunedin, Florida because it really is Delightful as it is often referred to as "Delightful Dunedin". It is a lovely waterfront area that I am happy to call home. I both live in work in Dunedin. How about those Rays? They sure have come a long way since last season and I am very excited about the playoffs and looking forward to seeing them in the World Series. Our very own, Tampa Bay Area RAYS!! Some folks may not be aware that the Rays are not actually a TAMPA Team but a ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA team where their home games are played. They are referred to as the Tampa Bay Area team quite often and some out of towners confuse the issue with the City of Tampa. Dunedin, Florida is a quaint little town of about 37,000 people. As a hometown gal, we are really proud of our views of the sunset at the end of Main Street, our many unique shops and restaurants and our city wide events which often are held downtown, with Main Street closed to vehicular traffic. We attract thousands of visitors, especially this time of year, but what many folks do not know, is that the town's businesses CLOSE on MONDAYS!! have recently had the pleasure of learning about Dog Eden. This is a grassroots organization made up of caring folks rescuing dogs. They are dedicated dog lovers and volunteers who bring dogs to Dunedin, train them, socialize them, vet them and keep them medically healthy so that they may be adopted out. They have been in operation since October, 2006 and so far up to the summer of 2008 have adopted out 54 dogs! Please visit their web cite www.dunedindogs.com for more information. I'm always bragging about Dunedin, Florida and what a terrific place to be, and now we are getting national media attention with CNNMoney.com. Dunedin was listed as one of the best waterfront communities for retiree hoping to stretch their budgets. Among the pros is that we are less crowded and less expensive than many towns on the East Coast. The article will be featured in a forthcoming edition of Money magazine too. We made the local newspapers today with the write up and we are delighted.

Lately, I have been getting alot of call from folks who want to rent property rather than buy it!! It seems to me that folks are just plain scared of buying. We have lots of inventory in our office as well as on the market and I know there are buyers out there who can afford to buy right now but I'm guessing that some folks are just plain holding back. Our chamber of commerce here in Dunedin just installed a web cam on our Main Street so visitors can get a glimpse of our town before their visit. I hear that the camera can be operated by the web user too! Big stuff for a small town. We ar excited. It should be up and running by the end of the month and I will post so you can check it out.

I love Dunedin, many of us refer to our selves as "Dunedin-ites" because we live in Delightful Dunedin, Flordia and It truly is delightful. We have the feel of the small home town village. We even have a Main Street.
With the distinction of being one of the oldest towns south of Cedar Key Dunedin's harbor accommodated schooners and sloops and became one of Florida's chief seaport and trading center. At one time, Dunedin had the largest fleet of sailing vessels in Florida.
