PARDON ME BUT YOUR ETIQUETTE IS SHOWING! We have truly entered an age in time where manners seem to be a thing of the past! Everyday I am dismayed at the lack of just plain ole good manners from people from all walks of life. I decided to write about a few ways to combat this lack of etiquette. 1. When the checker in the grocery store doesn't even look up and make eye contact with you, make it a point to look at their name tag and say, "Hello _______, how are you today?" Most often they are startled (80 comments)

DO YOU HAVE A DISASTER PLAN FOR YOUR BUSINESS? Last year when the Houston area was hit with Hurricane Ike, many of us prepared our homes but many people failed to prepare their businesses for the storm. The end result was costly and basically shut down many businesses longer than necessary. As I continue to watch natural disasters happening all over the world, I thought it might help to put together a preparedness list and suggestions for your business in the event of a disaster. I hope that we don't have another hurricane or other terrible event, but I can (6 comments)
SELLER STAYED~TURNS OUT, IT WAS A GOOD THING! Yesterday the first home that I showed, the Seller's chose to stay during the showing. Knowing this beforehand, I was prepared for a quick visit from my buyer's. Not so! Surprisingly, the elderly couple were the most delightful people. MY MAMA TAUGHT ME TO ALWAYS WRITE A "THANK YOU" NOTE! As a southern girl, my mama always drilled into me the importance of a hand-written note. I have followed her example my entire adult life and I am continually amazed at the response that I get when someone receives a note from me. Typically, I will receive a call after sending a personal note with the recipient exuberant over the note. I think that we have entered into an era where the hand written note has become a thing of the past. I am saddened by this as I (13 comments)
ARE YOU A CUSTOMER OR A CLIENT? I have been writing a series of articles over the past few days on the topic of the importance of educating the public on having representation by the real estate world. I have found that the consensus in our industry is that this is an area that we as agents need to spend a bit more time on so that the general public has a better understanding of agency representation. In the real estate world there IS a difference between being a customer and being a client. I would like to take just (3 comments)
ON SHAMROCK AND SALES! Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! As I was contemplating this day, I wanted to dig a little deeper on this traditional day. Having only a small percentage of Irish blood in me (I'm sure we all have some!), I was curious to research the significance of the Shamrock. What I discovered about this tiny little plant is that the famous Saint Patrict used this plant to teach the trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I never knew the significance of the shamrock and was pleasantly surprised to learn of this. The celebrating of (3 comments)
