It is hard to believe that it is almost November! Where has the time gone. Only two more months of 2011 and then we are heading into a brand new year. For many of us this has been a tough year. How has your year been? What will you do differently next year? What goals will you set? Enjoy these last two months and take the time to reflect on the good things in your life. It does go by way to quickly and we often find that we miss the blessings that are right in front (8 comments)
Here is my little grandson Cayden. He is four months old and this will of course be a his first Halloween. I found this adorable pumpkin costume and just had to get it. Someday he will not be happy with me for this picture but I couldn't help it. This little guy is so precious and brings tremendous joy to my life. I am so thankful to be alive and to experience being a grandmother. What fun it is to see these little ones grow and develop their personalities. I can't wait to see all of (7 comments)
Tomorrow is Halloween and that means lots of little trick or treaters will be hitting the streets. Sadly, each year we hear of fatalities and accidents which can be avoided with some extra precautions. Please take the time to adhere to some simple guidelines to ensure the safety of all. Don't allow your children to wear all black. If they insist on a black costume, place some reflective decals on the front and the back of the costume so they can be seen by car lights. Parents, go with your children during the trick or treating. (4 comments)
If you have never visited The Woodlands, Texas it is hard to comprehend how difficult and confusing driving through our community is. The Woodlands is a premier master planned community with the purpose of preserving the beautiful forest that we live in while creating a place to live and work. In order to achieve this balance of homes, businesses and trees, a great deal of planning had to take place before the first road was cut through. The developers did a fantastic job of designing a community where our trees thrive and give us the (3 comments)
It was a heart breaker when the Rangers lost the World Series the other night. All is not lost though. Just making it this far for any team is a huge accomplishment. There is no shame in not winning the World Series. Rangers, we are proud of you here in Texas. There is always next year too. The team obviously has tremendous talent and great experience in the play-offs and in the World Series. This alone goes a long way. This is one Texas Rangers fan who is mighty proud of our boys in blue. You (1 comments)
My Sunday blessings this week are to rejoice even when life is tough. We all go through peaks and valleys in life and this week has been one tough one for me. Through it all however, I cling to what I know is true and good and that is the hope that I have in my faith and my Savior. I honestly don't know what people do who don't have a strong faith. One of my favorite verses is tucked away in Deuteronomy 33:12 which reads, “Let the beloved of the LORD (4 comments)
Tonight is the BIG night for the Texas Rangers to WIN the WORLD SERIES. Last night was a true nail-biter and the series has been outstanding. I am ready with my comfort food and drinks ready to go! The Rangers have had a great season and it has been fun seeing them get this far. The Cardinals of course are a great team but being a Texas girl, my loyalty stays with the boys in red, white and blue! Whatever you are doing this evening and this weekend, make it a great time! As a real estate professional, when I receive a call from a new customer, there are some questions that I ask in order to better serve a potential client, discover the caller's situation, understand their motivation and to quite frankly protect myself. We live in a world where not all is as it seems thereby making it very critical for an agent to spend some time of due diligence on the part of information gathering about a new customer. My purpose in asking some of these questions is to first (57 comments)

No matter what our chosen path in life, it is often easy to fall into the trap of familiarity of what we do that we might miss out on the joy right under our noses. Often we begin a career with passion and excitement only to find as time goes by that the joy has turned to drudgery. At this point, the career becomes simply - a job. So what is the difference between a job and a career? Big differences for sure. Here are a few of my observations between (14 comments)
Market Street in The Woodlands, Texas now has a brand new Ann Taylor store! This store was previously located in The Woodlands Mall and has relocated to Market Street. Market Street is the perfect venue for this classic-style clothing concept. Along with the other high-end retailers, Ann Taylor fits right in. The store opened with a soft opening last Thursday night. I attended the opening and was greeted by a delightfully friendly staff and of course some gorgeous clothes! The store is absolutely beautiful inside with a very modern, sleek (9 comments)
We are upon another week ending and a new one beginning. I like to take time to reflect on the past week. What did I do well and what are some things I would change or do better? What will I do with this new week upon me? Taking stock of where we have been and where we are going is always a good thing to do. Assessing and re-assessing are important for any person, business and family to practice. Learning from our past can certainly help us to make good and better decisions (3 comments)
This week as I attended the funeral of a very dear man who was so well-loved in our community, I was so touched by the tribute being paid to this phenomenal human being. As I sat there with a heavy heart thinking that while here on earth I shall never see this wonderful person again, he made an impact on my life as well as everyone that was there. No one claimed him to be perfect yet the resounding theme was how this man LIVED his life. He (9 comments)

I am so thankful for the grace that is freely given to me. Undeserved and unmerited love is the ultimate gift that I am blessed to have in my life. As an imperfect person I am thankful for the grace that I am shown each and every day. Grace is a tough concept but ultimately the most precious gift that we can receive. Because I am shown grace everyday, I must forgive when I am wronged or hurt. This is freeing for me as I do not carry around the burden of the negative (12 comments)
The Texas Rangers are headed to the WORLD SERIES. After a stunning game where they whooped up big time on Detroit, the Rangers will be proudly heading to the series! As a native Texan, it always makes me proud to see a Texas team go this far! I would love to go to a game but not sure if tickets are available! Today while it was raining, Buddy our goofy dog was watching to see if it was going to rain cats and dogs. This was too funny as the rain came down, Buddy was just sitting outside on the lounge chair watching it rain. You just have to wonder what he thinking! Yesterday was the 6th running of the 10 for Texas ten mile race here in The Woodlands. The event sold out this year with 2,200 runners hitting the streets early in the morning. It was a bit muggy but the rain held off and the race was another success for The Woodlands Township parks and recreation. This is my most favorite of all of the races that I participate in. It is right here in my hometown and it is always great to see so many health-conscious people out taking part of this (4 comments)
We awoke to the best blessing of all - sweet, gentle falling RAIN! We have not had a steady and sustained rainfall since last year! Our very parched land, trees and shrubs are literally out there soaking it up. The rain is coming down the way we need it, slow and steady. The few storms that have blown in have blown out as quickly as they have arrived. The result has been not a lot of accumulation of rain. Therefore, today it is with great appreciation to see this rain hanging around today. I just (6 comments)

Listing appointments are an art form that can be tweaked and refined in order to provide our clients with the information they need in which to make serious decisions concerning their home sale. As we know, selling a home is an emotional and many times overwhelming task for all parties involved. Being able to truly discuss and present to your clients the "real deal" about their home sale is essential. Now my title referring to "blowing them away" may not be referring to a fancy, high-tech listing presentation. What I consider to (9 comments)

The weather here in south Texas has finally let up and we are experiencing some very welcomed crisp Fall air. What a welcomed relief to us as we have endured a very brutal summer. With the temperatures dropping and welcoming in October, staging your home for Fall is a nice change. If you are selling your home, use tasteful decorations and avoid the garish Halloween theme. Just adding a bit of fall color here and there gives you home a nice, cozy feeling. Burn a few cinnamon candles for the full affect.
It is a gorgeous Sunday and we are taking it easy today. I was sleeping and awoke to see that every member of my household was snoozing as well including the four-legged ones.
