Since it feels like Spring here, I got into the mood to get busy arranging flowers.  In my quest to bring the some Spring-like feeling into my home I went and shopped for the non-real flowers, the container and the other necessary items to make it happen.  Those of you who have shopped for the completed flower arrangements know that they typically run between $300 - $500 each.  Of course the more variety, the more expensive it can be.

If you haven't found the time to discover "Pinterest" then you are missing out.  This is a great site that helps you find fabulous pictures, ideas, recipes, inspiration and more!  Fair warning though, it is addicting!
I have had the best time discovering this site and now have several bulletin boards.  It basically is a giant bulletin board and you can collect pictures and pin them to your boards.  Very cool and very fun!

TEXAS BLUEBONNETS!

If you have never been to Texas when our state flower the Bluebonnets are in bloom, you have missed out!  These gorgeous wild flowers will blanket almost every roadway in Texas during March and April.  This year we might be seeing them a little earlier due to the spring-like weather that we have been having.
People will come out in droves to photograph these flowers!  It is a favorite thing to do to take the family and have  those family pictures taken in the flowers.  The pictures of babies in the Bluebonnets are especially lovely!  Just be careful … (3 comments)

After a long hiatus, The Woodlands Marathon is returning in six weeks!  Everyone is so excited and geared up to see this race return to the area.  For those of us who have been around for awhile, we can remember when this race was a common thing here.  I actually ran the race back in 1985!  Man do I sound old!

Due to the severe drought that we experienced here in The Woodlands, Texas this year, our beloved trees have taken a beating.  Back in 2009 when hurricane Ike slammed into the area, the trees sustained major damage and caused the to weaken.  As our temperatures this summer climbed to record breaking numbers along with the absence of rain, the already distressed trees have taken a major hit.

Yesterday at the Chevron Houston Marathon, the 28,000 runners lined up at the staring line in the dark awaiting the gun to go off.  The weather at 6:30 a.m. was a bit brisk so everyone is packed together in their running corals.  You can literally feel the electric energy that this crowd generates.  It is like nothing you can experience anywhere else.

This is the big weekend for the annual Chevron Houston Marathon here in Houston, Texas.  The Aramco Half Marathon is also being run at the same time.  Both of these races have been sold out for months so there will be literally tens of thousands of runners out in full force on Sunday morning.

This is a big weekend for Houston. Tomorrow morning in downtown Houston, elite runners from all over the nation will be here to run the marathon to try and make the Olympic Team.  This will be a first for the city of Houston for the Marathon Olympic Trials.  We are excited to host this event!

The longer that I have been an active blogger, the more I realize that we all develop our own writing and blogging style.  We also develop our own blog-attude.  A blog-attude is the tone, inflection, personality and the attitude that comes through in our posts.
I find that on days that have been difficult, if I try to write when my "tude" is off,  my blog-attude is affected big time.  Therefore, I find that I try and avoid writing on the days where my "tude" is not exactly making me feel all warm and fuzzy.  I will often … (6 comments)
