active rain community: Active Rain Who Knew? Helping Fellow AR Members - 02/21/23 08:00 AM
Did you know there is a way to lend a helping hand to your fellow Active Rain members? It's all about the community here in the Rain and I have so appreciated the support and help I receive on this site. Therefore, here are some quick and easy ways to show support for our members:
LIKE posts. When you read content that you appreciate, show some love to the author with a LIKE. COMMENT on posts. Your comments that are meaningful show the author that you took the time to read their post.  RE-BLOG. When you re-post a member's post, it … (29 comments)

active rain community: Active Rain WHO KNEW? ~ Climbing the Leaderboard - 10/06/21 03:25 PM
For those who may be wondering about climbing the Active Rain Leaderboard and what it means, this post is for you. Eleven years ago when I began blogging here in the Rain, I had no idea about points, leaderboards, or any of the other nuances of this blogging site.
Through the years, as blogging has become a part of my normal life, I have learned so much in the Rain. I also began to understand the point system and what it really meant. The main thing the points provide is the ability to move up the leaderboard.
Where's the leaderboard you ask? Here … (23 comments)

active rain community: Active Rain ~ Who Knew - Why AR Points? - 12/26/20 02:21 PM
If you are new to Active Rain or you've been here a while, you may still not understand the whole "point' thing here in the Rain. When I joined almost 10 years ago, I had no concept of even blogging much less receiving points. As I continued to engage, post, follow, like, etc. the points just started racking up.
So what do these points mean to us as AR members? The reasons are numerous:
Points provide us with goals in an achievement-based manner. As your points grow, you rise in ranking in your area, city, state, and nationally. Points show your engagement … (30 comments)

active rain community: To Follow or Not to Follow? - 01/13/15 04:58 AM

I have a confession to make!  For years I assumed incorrectly that I was following certain people here in the Rain!  With the advent of the new "Follow" button under our names in the commenting section, you can now just glance over easily to see if you are following someone or not.  To my horror, there were many friends here in the Rain that I thought I was following but wasn't!

Now I can immediately Follow my friends!  I have reached out to several long-time Active Rain friends to let them know that it has been an oversight on … (43 comments)

active rain community: HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ACTIVE RAIN FAMILY! - 02/13/13 10:38 PM
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ACTIVE RAIN FAMILY!

I just wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to the Active Rain family!  If you are new to AR, you may not truly understand how this blogging community can become like a family.  Hopefully soon however, you will reap the benefits of this wonderful group of people as you continue to blog and meet new friends.
Active Rain became a family for me very early on after I penned my first blog.  They lovingly guided me along as a neophyte and encouraged me to continue.  More importantly however, they became true friends.
After blogging for … (18 comments)

active rain community: TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS CONVENTION 2012 - 09/07/12 08:46 AM
TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS CONVENTION 2012

As an Active Rain Blogger, the added bonus of attending your local, state or national real estate conventions are meeting up with fellow Active Rainer's.  Today Tiffany Sneizek and I met up with Jerry Newman.  It was great meeting this wonderful man in person.  I knew from being a Subcriber to his blog that I would love him and indeed I did.
We all received an email this morning from the AR CEO Nikesh who will be arriving here in San Antonio, Texas tomorrow.  He will be meeting with as many Rainer's as possible. … (10 comments)

active rain community: MEETING A LOCAL ACTIVE RAIN COLLEAGUE! - 10/07/10 06:25 AM
MEETING A LOCAL ACTIVE RAIN COLLEAGUE!

I have been an active participant here on Active Rain since this past February.  During this time one of the best rewards of Active Rain are the people in this community.  While I was in the hospital and then at home recovering, my AR buddies were there cheering me along.  It meant so much and I truly feel as if I have expanded my net of friends to include many of my fellow Active Rainer's!
Just this week, I finally met one of my local AR colleagues Pippa Mac who is right here in … (9 comments)

active rain community: THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.... - 07/08/10 02:56 PM

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.....  Being able to come home and crawl into your own bed is truly one of the greatest things on earth.  I am thankful to be in my own surroundings.  Hospitals have their place but nothing, nothing, nothing beats home.
Home is also the all-too familiar faces, smells, routines, etc.  One of these "Homes" for me is Active Rain.  Never in a million years did I ever realize that when I joined Active Rain just back in February would I encounter a group of warm, loving FRIENDS!
The love and support that has been pouring all … (24 comments)
