Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today was the 23rd annual GE Run Thru the Woods here in The Woodlands, Texas. About 6,000 participants lined up bright and early to get their run on this morning. We had absolutely great weather too! This is always a great family event. Entire families will show up and participate together. It always helps me to justify eating such a big Thanksgiving meal. Thanks to my friend Sheri in the orange who encouraged me along. I had a root canal yesterday and could have easily blown this (8 comments)
Although it was a balmy 80 degrees at 8 a.m. and a very high humidity, the GE Run Thru the Woods was a success again this year! For the 21st year, this race was well attended with lots of crowds cheering us along the way as well as many, many participants. The five mile race winds through the downtown area of The Woodlands, going across I-45 and through the neighborhoods of Oak Ridge. Here are a few pictures. The picture above is right before the start at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Below (4 comments)
Why not start your Turkey Day right and come out to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Thanksgiving morning and either walk a nice 3 mile route or join the runners for a 5 miler through the woods? This will be the 21st Annual GE Run Thru the Woods! It is a very well attended event and the energy level is high! Everyone is laughing and having a great time especially after the race when consuming the free pancake breakfast! There is something for everyone! Get out and get some (8 comments)
