My husband and I have now invested in and renovated two historic buildings in our town. Both projects were interesting, challenging, and fulfilling. There are certainly many things to consider before diving into any type of historic project.

My husband and I recently completed the renovation of our 100+-year-old, historic building on our town Square. We lovingly restored this beauty over the past year and it was truly an adventure. Today, we are the proud owners of a boutique 7-room suite hotel upstairs along with three retail spaces downstairs.
Today, we received an "anonymous" email that was sent also to our City Council Members, the Mayor, our local newspaper, and several others in our town. This email tries to imply that the name of our Hotel is racist.

A Tale of an Abysmal Appraisal
I can just hear you all inwardly groaning on this topic. Most likely we all have an appraisal horror story. That no so-great phone call saying the home or building did not appraise for the sales price. You can feel you stomach drop when you hear this right?
