Iowa Finance Authority Increases Interest Rates on First-Time Home Buyer Programs in Iowa. The Iowa Finance Authority announced Wednesday June 21, 2007 that it has increased the interest rates on its two very popular Iowa first-time homebuyer programs: First Home, and First-Home Plus. May 2007 Home Sales in Rock Island Illinois Drop 31.7%, Prices Decline 14.9%, From May 2006! REALTOR-assisted "Closed" single-family home sales in the city of Rock Island, Illinois decreased by a significant 31.7% in the month of May 2007, down from the same period in May 2006. With 28 closed sales transactions in May 2007, the Rock Island market showed a decrease of 13 units (31.7%) from the May 2006 total of only 41 closed sales transactions. REALTOR-assisted "Closed" single-family home sales in the city of Bettendorf, Iowa declined by 8.3% in the month of May 2007, down from the same period in May 2006. With 44 closed sales transactions in May 2007, the Bettendorf market showed a decline of 4 units (8.3%) from the May 2006 total of 48 closed sales transactions. REALTOR-assisted "Closed" single-family home sales in the Quad-City Area (QCA) declined by 5.8% in the month of May 2007, down from the same period in May 2006. With 293 closed sales transactions in May 2007, the QCA market showed a decline of 18 units (5.8%) from the May 2006 total of 311 closed sales transactions.
