paul campbell: She Melts my Heart - 12/09/10 04:30 AM
I Wuv Oooo As I left this morning to begin my day in the real estate world I kissed my 18 month old granddaughter and said "I love you."

She repeated," I Wuv Oooo."  If you are  a grandpa you know what happened next.  My heart melted!  Caroline has big blue eyes, blond curly hair, big red lips and an angelic voice that makes me crumble.  Just looking at her is enough to cause me to want to pick her up and give her hugs and kisses.  Now that she has added "I Wuv Ooo" to her lexicon I will … (2 comments)

paul campbell: TheValue of The Local Hardware Store - 11/06/10 11:40 AM
I am not a plumber.  When I occasionally embark upon a plumbing task usually within a few minutes  I am wondering if my short term memory has begun to fail.
This morning I decided to tackle the dripping faucet problem in the guest bathroom.

Removing the single piece unit that shuts off both the hot and cold water was quite easy.  I took a photo of the unit that dispenses the water and carried the camera with me to my local Ace Hardware at Tates Creek Center.  Digital pictures are a insurance for my visual memory. Ace doesn't … (3 comments)

This newly listed home in Wilmore offers an opportunity to live on one level just a short walk from Asbury University and Seminary.  This home at 203 South Walnut Street is also only a couple of blocks from Sim's Drug Store on main Street.
The roof, windows and all the appliances are new within the past 4 years.  The super quiet Bosch dishwasher is only a year old.  There is a newer wood stove that heats the entire home even on the coldest Kentucky winter morning.  Never lose a night's sleep during a Kentucky ice storm in your cozy new home.

paul campbell: Day Trip Surprises - 08/10/10 08:05 AM
Bob in the Garden, Bob?  What happened to Paul? Do you even recognize Bob?  He's a little different from this 2010 incarnation - this Bob is dated 2000 and is a thinner version than what he is today (aren't we all).  This is how Bob came to live at our house. Last Saturday we decided to drive some back roads here in Kentucky. We were looking for a farmer's market in Danville, Kentucky but we stumbled upon the "World's Longest Yard Sale", held every year the first weekend of August.  It stretches 675 miles from Michigan to Alabama, along the highway … (0 comments)

paul campbell: Wilmore, Ky - A wonderful home in a charming town. Open House - 07/05/10 02:00 PM
Saturday morning we drove down to Wilmore to go to a very sweet small town parade with our children and grandchildren.  I so much enjoy Wilmore.  It is only a 20 minute drive from South Lexington and with the completion of the new four lane highway in the near future it will be quicker and safer.  What is so special about Wilmore?  It is truly a small town that has somehow preserved the mid 20th century.  The parade is mostly people having fun.  The lawnmower brigade of men not afraid to have a little fun and laughter is a reflection of … (1 comments)

paul campbell: Enjoying and Enduring Life - 07/05/10 05:50 AM
The Joy of Life and The Pain of Death,

I hear my grand daughter Caroline squealing with delight as Grammy plays with her.  I am in my office downstairs.  Caroline is 13 months old and beginning to expand her vocabulary but what is most miraculous is the energy and delight she brings to life.  Sometimes I take that sense of child like wonder for granted.

Kathy and I returned home from Europe and I was greeted by a voice mail that warned my mother was gravely ill.  I quickly made several calls to get an update and determined I … (3 comments)

Another terrific thing about the University of Kentucky is they will actually give you $15,000 to buy a home  if you work at the University.

In order to receive this forgivable loan you need to buy a home near the University of Kentucky.  The facts of the program and eligibility requirements are clearly defined at UK's Employer Assisted work program.  Please do not keep this program a secret and do not assume … (1 comments)
