palm springs: Tiny Homes coming to Palm Springs, CA - 04/17/17 01:55 PM
Palm Springs will be home to a new village of "Tiny homes."  Located at the Palm Canyon Mobile Club, you'll see new minimalist-inspired homes popping up-  Stemming from the popularity of  Tiny Home Nation and other shows about the Tiny Home movement, this community will be the first of its kind to be located in the popular Palm Springs resort town.

The biggest challenge for tiny home enthusiasts often is where do you place them?  Most cities have very strict ordincances that prevent a tiny home to be located within their boundries.  Zoning laws often prohibit smaller dwellings.  Even if you could … (1 comments)

palm springs: Things are picking up in Phoenix! From bust to boom? - 05/18/09 05:15 AM
Just saw this article in the LA Times regarding the recent boom in sales in the Phoenix area.  Click here for more info.
This is not too different that what we're experiencing in Palm Springs.  With prices at an all time low, well priced listings are selling often over asking, and often with multiple offers.  I have had two clients lose out on deals this past week alone, for bidding below asking on properties that were just listed- (against my advice.)  Both properties were sold with multiple offers over asking.
I think there are definite signs that things are picking up!

palm springs: Palm Springs famous Riviera Resort is starting to shape up - 03/15/08 04:23 PM
The famous Palm Springs Riviera Resort has been undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation over the last few months.  Its due to reopen in the fall of 2008.
I drive by it everyday on my way to the office.  This past week, I noticed they're attacking the tacky facade that was put up in the 80s, and bringing it back to its original mid-century design.  Its exciting to see this great resort re-emerge!  Check out the website:  http://www.psriviera.com/riviera_home.aspx
The new resort and spa will be a welcome and exciting addition to Palm Springs.  It will definately add to the revitalization of the hip north end … (0 comments)

Palm Springs airport landscape architect fights adding native plants
Stefanie Frith • The Desert Sun • February 29, 2008
PALM SPRINGS - At a time when homeowners, businesses and cities across the valley are looking to conserve water by converting green space to desert landscapes, some at the Palm Springs International Airport are pushing back.
The use of grass and flowers versus desert plants - a mid-century modern aesthetic versus a tropical vibe - is at the heart of an emotional debate over a plan to renovate the landscaping inside the airport.
On Wednesday, the airport's landscape architect choked up when he presented his vision … (0 comments)

palm springs: New Restaurant - The Purple Palm - Colony Palms, Palm Springs - 02/07/08 01:58 AM
Wow, wanted to spread the word on my latest visit to The Purple Palm restaurant at the newly opened, Colony Palms Hotel, in central Palm Springs.
http://www.colonypalmshotel.com/home.php
What a great property that evokes the spirit of the old Palm Springs era.  Dine pool side in a lushly landscaped courtyard in the middle of the property.  Enjoy amazing mountain views as you dine to classic Rat Pack style music.  Great staff, good food, and really a relaxing enjoyable experience.  I've taken a couple of clients there recently, and have really been impressed.  Hope you can stop by sometime and enjoy it for yourself.
