If today's players were limited to high tech shoes and minimal protection (yes--leather helmets), I guarantee that there would be fewer concussions. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nothing else would change (except the shapes of the players, which would appear more human and less Transformerish). &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt; Finally in mid July, Jim learned that he was going to be okay.&amp;nbsp; But the good news had some bad mixed in. Jim's medical bills exceeded $800,000 dollars, of which all but $80,000 was covered.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This is an issue that goes beyond our area and goes beyond real estate. But because it involves people, it has everything to do with our area and everything to do with our real estate market.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Did you know that the term &quot;socialized medicine&quot; was coined in 1947 by a PR firm to attack then-President Harry Truman's plan to reform America's health care system? 1947! Nobody knew what the term meant in 1947--it sounded like communism, though, and 1947 was the height of the Cold War. Sixty-two years later the term is still meaningless, but it's still being thrown up as an objection to universal health care. I've heard it from some of you readers--you know who you are.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If &quot;socialized medicine&quot; means a system controlled and administered by the government, we already have it: VA, for example, and Medicare, are controlled and administered by the government. And nobody complains about either.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to J.R. Reid, a journalist for The Washington Post, &quot;&lt;strong&gt;In terms of results, almost all advanced countries have better national health statistics than the United States does. In terms of finance, we force 700,000 Americans into bankruptcy each year because of medical bills. In France, the number of medical bankruptcies is zero. Britain: zero. Japan: zero. Germany: zero&lt;/strong&gt;.&quot;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Not to put too fine a point on it, the American healthcare system is the worst in the civilized world.The worst!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Please read the following article carefully. Sixteen percent of all Americans are denied health care (you know who you are, too). They deserve care. You deserve care. The models already exist--they're outlined in this article. They're successful. We can institute them easily once we take away the profit from insurance companies. Other countries have already done it, and all parties are very happy with the results!&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Our profession loves to use Market Trend Reports. &lt;strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'll raise my hand to confess I've been as guilty as anyone in presenting my carefully researched Demand Ratios. 6.5 and higher indicates a Buyers' Market, 2.5 or lower a Sellers' Market, etc., etc . But in the few days I realized that such ratios have no relationship to trends. All they do is give a very rough indicator of what's happened up to today. So many houses on the market, so many under contract. Period.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So-called trend reports tell us almost nothing. What we need to know as professionals is not how many homes are on the market--anyone with access to the Internet can figure that out.&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt; What we need to know is how many qualified buyers are looking &lt;/strong&gt;at all these wonderful, cute, adorable, handyman-special-beautifully-sited properties. Until we know how many buyers are out there, it does us no good at all to know how many sellers are out there.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How about it? Do you know how many buyers are in your marketplace? Is it even possible to find out?&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Here's what we see in a buyer's market, but to try to look at it objectively, let's get the discussion away from housing for a moment and think about apples. Let's say there's one store in town, and let's say that all it sells is apples. Red, yellow, green, Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, just apples.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span id=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now group the red Delicious together, the Granny Smiths, the yellows. Put prices on individual apples. Stick with the reds for now: all the apples look more or less the same, but the price on each apple is different. $1.25, $1.05, .88, .49. Which apple would you buy, all other things being equal? So someone else buys the 49c apple and suddenly the price on the $1.25 apple (which is withering a little) is changed to $1.10. Will it sell next? (No.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Replace the prices and apples with prices and homes. The principle is the same. If you want to sell your home without having to wait for all the other homes to sell first, price it properly. And price it right from the beginning. Consult with a professional and remember that the current market will ultimately dictate the selling price.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
