My little girl is getting married tomorrow. It is one of those lovely moments in my life where I am filled with joy and sadness, all at the same time.

Chances are you wouldn't know it if you had. Stage names and agents might keep you in the dark till the very end. The world of celebrities might look blessed but it can be hazardous to ones health or well being.

A country western singer... I wasn't aware of the country western singer until a week before closing. He was represented by his girl friend and agent doing the search.  A professional athlete... Make sure you visit that beautiful waterfront marina condo at low tide also...
I showed a condo to a client and the Owner/Agent insisted that we be there at a specific time. I told the Owner/Agent that my client had to catch a plane and it was now or never. He agreed to meet us at the condo.
The rotten egg smell was really bad as we drove up. My buyer was almost sickened by the odor. We call it low tide.

Jubilee is for Active Retirement Living - 07/25/09 11:25 AM

I believe we have one of the best adult communities in Washington State. It's called Jubilee which means celebration to me at least. Some people think it's a prison sentence rather than a celebration, but I tend to look at the positive side of life and to live it to the fullest.

55 is only a number and a speed limit!

We've all been there, waiting for that perfect spot to park. It's like a game, how close can I get to those store doors.
Well, this is an example of not looking up when you find that perfect spot to park. This car would have been safe if the driver would have walked just 2 parking stalls farther...
Be careful when you look up!

A big shot attorney had to spend a couple of days in the hospital. He was a royal pain to the nurses because he bossed them around just like  he did his staff. None of the hospital staff wanted to have anything to do  with him.

Attack of the rumor mill... - 07/15/09 06:36 AM
Who started the $15k buyer rebate rumor? Is this a way to stymie an already fragile home market?
In the last 2 weeks I have had 2 buyers decide to wait. The reason they have been told by their financial advisers that they would be foolish to settle for $8k when the government is talking about a new exciting rebate program. The other shoe to drop is the rumor also includes all buyers', not just first time home buyers. (Double Ouch!)

Sunday morning, on TV, is one of my favorite days for real estate television. I'm not big on television but I like fix up shows. Since Sundays are a work day for me, I really get inspired by these shows.
Moving Up on the TLC network is one of those love/hate programs.  I have fought, for years; to keep buyers and sellers from discussing how they will change the house they have in common. One person's home is another person's project.

Oops,  I inspired myself this morning as I worked on a problem.
I found I had to identify the problem before I could fix it. The symptoms of the problem were everywhere. I spent so much time working on the symptoms however the problem lingered on.

I went to a summer company picnic today... - 07/11/09 10:13 PM
I was invited to a company picnic today, not the company I work for, but an old fashion, family oriented, company picnic.
It was done to say thanks to the employees and their families for a job well done. It included;
Sunshine... A three legged race... A tug of war... Department vs. department Volleyball tournament... Great food and refreshments... Tons of rides and games for the kids... Face painting for the kids all the way up to the CEO... It was, for me, like stepping back in time. When companys remembered what makes a company successful. What price, Convenience? - 07/09/09 10:29 PM
I couldn't believe it!
I client, who I referred to a local mortgage lender, went to a online mortgage service and paid over two points more to refinance their home than if they would have gone with the local lender's good faith estimate.
When I asked why they told me they liked the convenience of dealing online. The lenders office is six blocks from where they work and they have to drive by the office to and from work. These are the same people who tried to beat me up on commission when I helped them sell a property. All … (7 comments)

What is REPU? REPU (Real Estate Professionals Union) is an idea of the times. Pilots, engineers, firefighters, police officers and other professionals have unions, why not real estate agents and brokers? In our area, I have seen several companies leave the Realtor ® name and logo, some because of money, others over ideology. 

In a day where the Obama Administration is showing great appreciation and tax advantages to unions, why not unionize real estate agents and brokers?
Is this an off the wall idea? Not in today's political climate.

Some people just do it a lot better than others.
Here's a great example  for you.  This lady, Dorthy Dale Kloss is 85 and performs daily in "THE FOLLIES" in Palm Springs.  You gotta love this flick of the oldest active living showgirl still performing. There are several "SENIORS" in the cast, but Dorthy is the queen, the oldest.

Are we being backed into a corner?
Remember when we worried about banks taking over our business? Get in line; I think we are headed for a government take over of our business. The triad is already under attack.
•·         Sales and Marketing
•·         Appraisal
•·         Finance
Do you see a trend by chance? It's very hard to do one without the other two. Who controls two of the three, controls the business.
Its time to write those elected officials and remind them that if they own real estate they better listen to their constituents rather than the party leaders.
