Chicken Noodle Soup - 08/20/12 12:37 PM
I made a crockpot of Chicken Noodle Soup for my employees to dig into this week, starting today at lunch time, and they loved it! If I'm not working, I spend what spare time I get on cooking! A few of my employees are really getting spoiled on this the last couple weeks, but It's well worth it because I love to cook, and nothing goes to waste. I like the reactions I get too. It gives a chance for everyone to have lunch together once in a while. Company break time!
I made up my own recipe as I went, … (1 comments)

Visit our "Hidden Paradise"! - 08/17/12 11:06 AM
This is the beautiful place you don't want to miss out on visiting this summer, should you come to Payson, Arizona. This is Fossil Creek Springs. It's about 15 miles East from Payson to get to Fossil Creek Rd., and then after that, you drive down a dirt road for about 15 miles. You will drive out in the middle of nowhere it seems like with nothing but Rock and Mountains, very desolate, like a Road that leads to nowhere. But This drive is deceiving because it will lead you right into what I call our "Hidden Paradise". It's just Magnificent! The … (2 comments)

The Perfect Juicy Rib Eye - 08/17/12 10:24 AM

Marinate your steak. Pour marinade of your choice in large plastic zip bag, add your steak and refrigerate. It's best to let it sit for 6 - 24 hours, but even a 1 hour marinade can make a difference in taste. You don't have to pay for an expensive marinade, it's simple to make your own. You can use beer, a bit of Worcestershire sauce, garlic and black pepper for an inexpensive alternative.
Warm your steak up. After you marinate the ribeye, bring the steak to room temperature. This helps ensure it cooks evenly.
Cook steak to your liking.

The Giant Saguaro Cactus - 08/16/12 02:44 PM

The northeastern portion of the Sonora desert, the Arizona upland desert, is home to the giant saguaro (sometimes spelled sahuaro and pronounced sah-wah-roh). This cactus has become the symbol of Arizona, and it is the most massive cactus in the United States, though it may be exceeded in size by some of the giant cacti of Baja California, southern Mexico and Brazil.

Woodpeckers sometimes drill holes in saguaros for nests; these may later be used by owls and other birds as well. Birds that may live in saguaros include Gila woodpeckers, elf owls, cactus ferruginous pygmy owls, … (1 comments)

The World's Largest Flower - 08/15/12 02:47 PM

The largest flower in the world, the rafflesia arnoldi, weighs 7 kg (15 pounds) and grows only on the Sumatra. Its petals grow to 1.6 ft long and 1 inch thick.
However fascinating and beautiful the rafflesia arnoldi may be, it is also called “corpse flower” and really reeks, the latter to attract flies for pollination.
There are over 200,000 species in the world, and the smallest is the duckweed, which can only be seen with a microscope.

Very rare.  Well...I told them It's warm up here in Payson. They insisted how lucky I am to live here, how nice and cool it actually is here today.
