Thoughts of Removing Home Price from advertisements.. Please Reply - 07/31/09 11:20 AM
What do you think about "Including" or "Excluding" the listing price of a home in your advertisements.? From what I can tell, there are 2 schools of thinking on this subject: There is One school of thought, that if the price is excluded, you will generate more interest and in turn get more phone calls. The other school of thought is to Always include the price. This way, the only people who call will be people who believe they can afford the property. Even if this results in ZERO CALLS. Personally, I have tried it both ways. I have Included and Excluded (8 comments)

Do It Yourself: Website Design, Blogging and Hosting... Anyone? - 07/22/09 02:49 PM
Website Creation and Hosting: When it comes to Real Estate and the Internet, they are inseparable! Not having a website, email and other online amenities will virtually kill your business. Not actually kill it... but quickly sends your clients to someone who does. I personally know people who have spent thousands of dollars on having a website created for them, in addition to paying for a hosting package and an ISP. Everyone is disappointed in some way... Is anyone on Active Rain, doing these things for themselves? Is it worth the time and effort? Do you get the desired results? Did (7 comments)
Easements, Both buyers and Sellers should be aware of the facts - 07/22/09 10:19 AM
Easements: It is very important for both the Buyers and Sellers to be aware of all legal aspects of the easement, and the type of easement it is. In Some cases, people believe they exist, but do not show up on a Deed. I am currently involved with a transaction that I listed, with an easement being granted to a neighbor for a Driveway that was over the property boundary. The Seller in this transaction gave his neighbor an Easement so he could continue to use his driveway, even though it crossed the property boundary by 20'. My seller didn't charge (1 comments)
On-line Marketing using websites, email and social media - 07/15/09 03:25 PM
On-line marketing and using Websites, email and Social Media It comes as no surprise that the Internet has forever changed the way we market product and services! We can promote ourselves, generate business, buy and sell things, do our banking and communicate with others. During this recession, and if you have time, we should be spending time thinking about our presence on line. Is my site the best one? Does it do what I created it for? Does it generate leads? Are my photos out-dated (Summer vs winter pics)? Most importantly, does it represent ME? Does it represent my Business? After viewing my website and (3 comments)
Being Color Blind is like Hearing Loss... - 07/15/09 01:01 PM
Color Blind is like Hearing Loss? When it comes to picking out colors, some people are better than others at this task. I really hate giving my clients advice when it comes to painting and choosing the right colors. With some, they pick the best colors and It works just fine... For others, it is a nightmare. I have a Theory! I think being color blind is like hearing loss, because each person sees and hears the same things a little differently. For example, My brother and his wife paint the inside of their house every other year. When they go to the store they (3 comments)

Pick your own Neighbor - Cool Marketing Idea - 07/10/09 11:12 AM
"PICK YOUR OWN NEIGHBOR" Campaign Thats right... I go around the neighborhood where I have a New Listing and ask if they would like to "PICK" their new Neighbors. It sounds kind of funny, but they always ask what I'm talking about. I then go on and explain to them, that a house in their neighborhood is for sale, Give them a flyer of the 'New Listing' and a Handout, then proceed to ask them for any leads or referrals they may know of. I also get a few precisous moments to ask them about their Family and Friends. I say something like (3 comments)

Seller Financing Options - On Lake shore Properties When people think of buying lakeshore, Lake Lots or a lake home, is it just a Dream? The answer is NO! It can be a reality for just about any buyer. The key is knowing where to look, what questions to ask and knowing all the Financing Options. When it comes to Financing Options on Lake lots or Lake shore: Do you consider asking the seller for some Help? In many cases this will not be an option, because the seller needs the proceeds to buy another property, if it is his primary (0 comments)
