What do I need in a disaster? - 04/28/11 08:14 AM
Last night we had super cell thunderstorms and tornados all around us. Thankfully none got close enough to cause damage, but many people were hurt and killed in this latest round of violent weather.
Before the storms hit, I thought about what I needed in case of disaster. I came up with this list. It is not a complete list, but it might get you to think about what you really need with you in case of a disaster.
1. Water  We took a case of water down to the basement in case we lost water.
2. A Battery powered radio  … (2 comments)

An Easter Success! - 04/25/11 09:13 AM
Saturday, 5 other agents from my office and myself held an Easter Egg hunt in our subdivision. Because of the economy the yearly neighborhood event had been cancelled. Well, with just 2 weeks to plan the event, we jumped in to see if we could make this happen, and we did!
It was a great success! We had about 150 kids in age from 3 to 10 show up with their parents for the hunt. We collected everyone together and had 3 seperate age groups hunt about 20 minutes apart. We had chalk for drawing in the parking lot, bubbles, Hula … (7 comments)

A Fallen Soldier - 04/14/11 11:13 AM
I just returned from standing out on a street in Woodstock Georgia. I stood with the local Waffle House Patrons, 2 Moms with their kids, and a bunch of my fellow Prudential agents. We stood on the side of the street and spoke to each other about everything and nothing. We were just enjoying the warm sunshine and the friendship. We were standing there watching the traffic drive by, people in cars wondering what we were doing. We could not tell them as the wizzed by us too quickly, but we were on a mission. We were there to honor a … (1 comments)

Easter Egg Hunt - Towne Lake in Eagle Watch - 04/14/11 08:20 AM
The annual Easter Egg Hunt in Eagle Watch had been canceled this year. There were as many as 300 children in the past that enjoyed this annual event. The local Prudential agents who live in Eagle watch decided that the economy would not sabotage this event this year. The annual Easter Egg Hunt is back on!
Starting at 10am Easter morning at the Eagle Watch park, there will be an Egg hunt this year. There will be prizes and candy and a special appearance by a large floppy earred bunny as well! Make sure you put this event back on your … (0 comments)

To list, or not to list... - 04/12/11 08:12 AM
Here is the situation. You need/want to sell your home. You engage a Realtor to look over your home and come up with a fair list price for your home. The price is below what you owe. Apparently you forgot about the second mortgage you took out when things were great to cover the cost of that vacation. Now what do you do?
This situation will come up today. I have a listing appointment this afternoon with a lady who now owes more than the house will sell for or appraise for. She will want to list her home at least … (4 comments)

Sony A33 Camera - 04/10/11 09:48 AM

I purchased a new camera last week. It is a Sony A33. I looked at the Nikon and Canon contenders but the Sony had some important differences. For 1, it auto focuses muck quicker than the other 2. Also, if you are interested in Frames per second, the Sony will shoot 7 FPS whereas the other two are around 3 to 3.5 FPS.
I found the camera to be easy to point and shoot in automatic mode. It also offers a bunch of manual settings in a menu based system for those interested in more creative pursuits. The kit … (3 comments)
