Just yesterday, a Lake Ridge Virginia homeowner asked me when the real estate market was going to improve enough that he could sell. Turns out his perception of the real estate market was skewed a bit. He just assumed the local real estate market conditions were bad since he keeps seeing those yellow signs in the median strip on weekends advertising Lake Ridge Foreclosures. Imagine his surprise when I said, currently there are only 16 Foreclosures For Sale in all of the 22192 zip code area. Yesterday, I read an interesting article in the Realtor Magazine and the term bantered around was "Doubling Up." In the past my only frame of reference for the term "Doubling Up" was the photo featured below. In fact I went upstairs to find the shoe box where I kept all the old photos.I took this picture when I attended the Twins Day Event held in Twinsburg Ohio in the late 90's. Over the past few weeks I have met with a handful of homeowners who are thinking of selling. A few are ready to buy move-up homes, another would prefer not to rent anymore and another has tenants leaving out of the blue and is frustrated with timing. Homeownes are always amazed when I sit down with them at their home and I show them all the data. Many just feell they'd rather not deal with the hassle of selling a home during the colder months and into the holiday season. Plus, most think their are very few buyers in the winter months.

It was eight years ago today. My fiance' Bill and I had just purchased a home together here in Lake Ridge Virginia. We had only known each other for a year. We had met online ( Match.com) on September 27th, 2002 at Mike's American Grill in Springfield Virginia for a drink. You know, just to check each other out. We've all been there, someone refers you to a Realtor or they hand you their business card or you see their photo online and you decide that is who you are going to call. However when you meet the person, they look nothing like their photo. That will never happen when you work or meet me. Why...well, I met my husband online nine years ago. It's quite a balance being a full time Realtor in Prince William County Virginia this year. The Christmas Season is upon us and there doesn't seem to be enough time in a day. Thank goodness for the snow the other day, my appointments all postponed due to inclement weather and I was able to get out the Christmas decorations.
Everyone has a favorite tradition for the holiday season, ours since we've been married is to set up our Victorian Carolers. We got lucky this weekend, we got them all set up right before it snowed. It was actually perfect timing.
