Vincent, How do I avoid foreclosure? - 05/29/08 07:38 PM
Determing what stage in the process you are in is the key!
Here are your TOP 5 options:
Forbearance- Your mortgage company may be able to arrange a repayment plan, to repay your debt over an extended amount of time, based on your financial situation. (I'll help to see if you qualify). Loan Modification- You may be able to modify the terms of your mortgage loan by lowering the rate, extending the term, or capitalizing the interest. This may help you catch up, and sometimes reduce your monthly payments to a more affordable level. (I'll help to see if you qualify). … (4 comments)

Flushed Away - Review - 05/25/08 08:43 PM

The story in "Flushed Away" is simple and not particularly original, but it's told cleverly (with a screenplay by five writers and direction by animation veterans David Bowers and Sam Fell), with daffy British humor, split-second sight gags and smart dialogue.
Roddy (voice of Hugh Jackman), a pet mouse in an upscale London apartment has his life interrupted by the arrival of a sewer rat named Sid. Adding to his vexation: While trying to flush Sid down the toilet, Roddy gets himself flushed instead. I guess if it isn't one thing, it's another, when you're a pet … (4 comments)

Seance - Review - 05/25/08 04:32 PM
From the moment this flick started I knew it was going to suck... Boy was I right!!!
The group of victims here are college students in a broken down college dorm. After holding a séance they "accidentally" release the ghost of a serial killer... the former janitor. Must I go on??
I should have left this one on the shelf. The flick was cheesy and the cinematography was probably the worst I've seen.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one altogether!

Eastern Promises - Review - 05/25/08 04:19 PM

This was completely not the movie I was expecting. Sure, the violent Russian mob side of things was expected but the characters and the course of the story were totally out of the blue for me. Too many hints about how everything and everyone come together in this snugly-constructed film would be unfair; suffice it to say that it has plenty of twists and surprises along the way to a satisfying conclusion that isn't pushed too far.
With mob movies I feel like there are three ways you can go; either you ‘Goodfellas' it and have one of your own … (4 comments)

Ghost Rider - Review - 05/25/08 03:59 PM
I was never much of Ghost Rider fan. Never collected the series and probably read just one or two of them.
Even though I wasn't expecting much from Ghost Rider, it still feels like potential wasted. I've always been curious about the story of Marvel Comic's flame-skulled motorcycle demon. But the movie ended up being too much build-up leading to not enough payoff. It's not too much to ask that a scary-looking superhero actually gets to do some real ass kicking, but the bad guys that get thrown at him are pretty pathetic. He doesn't even get a chance to do … (4 comments)

The Orphanage - Review - 05/25/08 03:44 PM
Laura acquires the orphanage she was raised in with her level headed husband and her sickly son. Together with her husband Carlos and adopted seven-year-old son Simon, Laura  is celebrating the opening of their new home for mentally and physically handicapped children.
Everything goes from bad to worse when Simon starts talking with imagery friends, an oddball lady looms about the place and ghostly happenings kick in hardcore. But when Simon tells her things he shouldn't know, like historical details and threatening demands, and when physical phenomena start occuring, she starts communicating with them, too (the disturbed inhabitants who aren't paying … (2 comments)

Mr. Brooks - Review - 05/11/08 10:08 PM
In a rare dark performance, Kevin Costner raises what might have been a normal crime movie with a twist involving his id into a superior human horror film. Where this movie succeeds is that you care about the film's sociopathic anti-hero, Earl Brooks. Mr. Brooks is a film that has two story lines. One of those storylines succeeds while the other is shaky. That weaker storyline belongs to Detective Atwood (Demi Moore), who offers an effective performance but whose character is never given the room to breathe.
Mr. Brooks seems like a simple cat and mouse movie between a killer and … (15 comments)

Alvin & The Chipmunks - Review - 05/11/08 09:53 PM
The new Alvin and the Chipmunks is a movie for adults and children. I fondly remember growing up watching "Alvin and the Chipmunks" on Saturday morning cartoons and listening to a cassette tape my dad had bought featuring the singing chipmunks (I can't recall a single song that was included on that cassette tape).
The actual plot more or less follows the romantic comedy pattern...a bit weird if you think about it, but that's precisely what it is. When their home becomes a Christmas tree for a record company foyer, the Chipmunks re-home themselves with the unwitting Dave, a struggling songwriter … (11 comments)
