Tottenville the most Southern tip of Staten Island, New York, rich in history. Just over 10 years ago the homeowners of above pictured property, crossed the Verrazano bridge to look at a house advertised from a 2" by 4"sketch photo, displayed in a 'rag tag real estate magazine.' Two weekends ago I took a trip to 'upstate' New York, Bear Mountain area with friends. We drove north on the Garden State Parkway and then onto the Palisades Interstate Parkway and a little over an hour we're there. Who knew? Bear Mountain area is the weekend getaway for the city. Great Kills Located on New York's, Staten Island South Shore neighborhood. According to the Wikipedia Kills is an old Dutch word with various translations including "creek and channel" and many creeks dot this neighborhood. At the Southeastern corner of the neighborhood you can find Gateway National Recreation Area formerly known as Great Kills Park. (3 comments)
