It's all about relationships, this business that calls to me and in which I've functioned for more than a quarter of a century.  When I think of the many transactions I've participated in over the years, the thread that keeps running through it is the wonderful friendships I've made along the way.  On the other side of that coin, sadly, is that people move into my life and often, when they become an integral part of the fabric of my life, they move on.  Probably because I'm teetering on the brink of an imminent separation within days, from a family I've taken on as my own, the poignancy of the situation does not elude me.

When thinking about whether or not I should enter this contest, I suddenly knew that I would, even though I'm busier than a one armed paper hanger at the moment.  My movie is an oldie.  It starred Irene Dunne in the title role, with a stellar supporting cast, including Oscar Homolka, Barbara BelGeddes and Philip Dorn.  Directed by George Stevens, it followed the story of a Norwegian family living in turn of the century San Francisco.  It was "I Remember Mama."

I do remember Mama, mine, to be sure, and all the rest of the mamas (and papas and their offspring) who have waltzed gracefully through my world, only to disappear into the ether. like a movie watched long ago.  To all of them, I dedicate this entry, with love.
