Maui Community College in Kahului will be hosting its first Annual Maui Sustainable Living Expo on August 16th and 17th. The event will feature forums, exhibits, and activities. A couple of weeks back, I had the opportunity to attend a seminar on Photovoltaic (PV), Wind Power and Catchment Systems sponsored by the Realtors Association of Maui. PV and wind power have been in use on Maui for quite some time. Most of the use has been by home owners living off the grid. We are seeing increasing demand for grid tied photovoltaic and wind power. Buyers are seeking greener energy sources and a means to reduce utility bills.
