For those that are seeking to live off the land, our listing in the community of Huelo along Maui's North Shore may well be worth a look. This property features 2.3 all usable acres of land that have been lovingly planted with a cornucopia of fruit trees, tropical flowers, native Hawaiian plants, construction bamboo and tropical hardwoods. I put together a video showing some of the beautiful plants around the property.

This home itself is a meticulously maintained two bed/two bath cedar cottage. The home is designed for easy expansion. A potential buyer also has the option of keeping the … (4 comments)

haiku: Own a Maui Home With a Back Yard Waterfall - 09/18/11 06:50 PM
The lush windward sides of Maui are known for tropical foliage, ocean vistas, trade winds and waterfalls. While there is a fair amount of inventory to choose from along the North Shore of Maui, I seldom see properties with waterfalls come on the market. This is one of the reasons we were so excited to list the Haiku Waterfall home. This special property is a rare offering of a truly special corner of Maui. Here is a quick video we put together highlighting the waterfall and some of the other outstanding attributes of this property.

While the waterfall is an … (0 comments)

haiku: Upside Property in Haiku, Maui - 03/12/09 12:07 AM
We just had a big price reduction on one of our listings in beautiful Haiku. This is a good opportunity for someone who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and do a little work. The property consists of two separate parcels. One is just under 1.5 acres and the other is 4.25 acres. The 4.25 acres has a funky cottage that is livable but needs some work to restore its previous charms. A new well was recently installed in the property, but a buyer will need to connect the well to the existing structure. The buyer will also be responsible … (1 comments)

haiku: Land in Haiku, Maui with Water - 02/18/09 09:48 PM
The lure of Maui's countryside is strong. Clean air, beautiful views and low density made this area very popular during Maui's Real Estate boom. The demand for parcels led to significant price increases in both homes and land. This put the cost of owning out of reach for many land buyers. As the global real estate market adjusts, we are seeing price adjustments in Maui's Country. These adjustments mean that there are some values out there for savvy buyers. One of those opportunities may be our agriculturally zoned parcel of vacant land in Haiku.

This 1.49 acre parcel is set … (3 comments)

haiku: Aerial Tour of Pali Makai Estate Part II - 12/04/08 08:59 PM
This is part II of my aerial tour of the Pali Makai Oceanfront Estate in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii. You can check out part I here if you missed yesterday's post. These posts illustrate this spectacular estate's stunning setting as well as a few of the home's design elements.

This shot shows the back of the home. It offers a good perspective on the wrap around covered lanai on the second floor. It is also provides a good angle on the Balinese style roof line on the home. This roof design helps keep the house cooler on warm days.

haiku: Aerial Tour of the Pali Makai Estate Part One - 12/04/08 01:25 AM
We just put our listing the Pali Makai Estate back on the market today. This amazing 5.8 acre oceanfront estate is located in the town of Haiku on Maui's North Shore. The home's materials and finishing are all five star. While words can't quite capture the home's spectacular setting. Recently, my brother Billy had an opportunity to fly over Pali Makai to take some photos. The photos give a good idea of this estate's amazing location as well of some of the design elements.

The home is part of a gated three lot subdivision. The Pali Makai Estate is on … (12 comments)

haiku: Price reduction in Haiku, Maui - 08/25/08 11:28 PM
I just want to let everyone know we had a price reduction on one of our listings in Haiku. This was an intriguing property before the price reduction and it is that much more interesting at a lower price. This valley property of roughly 5.8 acres consists of two parcels. One parcel is just under 4.26 acres and includes a three bedroom/one bath cottage. The cottage will need some repairs, but it has some pretty good bones. It has vaulted ceiling and a huge lanai area that is ideal for taking in the great Hawaii climate. The other parcel is 1.48 … (1 comments)

haiku: A Couple of New Listings in Haiku, Maui - 07/26/08 08:36 PM
Earlier this week, I posted about our new listing in Haiku. It is a great opportunity in that there are two parcels associated with the property. In addition to buying the property as a whole, you can also buy each of the parcels individually.

The one parcel consists of 4.255 acres with a three bedroom/one bath cottage. The cottage could use a little TLC, but it has great potential. It is surrounded by extensive lanais which make it an ideal locale for indoor outdoor living. The lot has been lovingly planted with a variety of tripicals and fruit. It is priced to sell … (0 comments)

haiku: 77 Nahele Road, Haiku, Maui, Hawaii - 07/22/08 08:33 PM
We have a great new listing in the beautiful Haiku area of Maui's North Shore. This property offers a tremendous sense of seclusion, but is really just a few minutes drive from Haiku School, the shops and restaurants at Haiku cannery, world famous Ho'okipa Beach Park and the charm of Paia Town. This property is an interesting opportunity in that it actually consists of two separate parcels. One parcel is roughly 4.5 acres and it includes a 3 bedroom/one bath cottage. The cottage is cute, but could use some TLC. The other parcel is just under 1.5 acres. Both parcels include an … (4 comments)

haiku: Maui Mystery Fruit - 07/01/08 01:53 AM
Maui's ideal growing climate has led to the introduction of flora from throughout the world. You will see plants, fruit, flowers and vegetables growing with origins ranging from North America, South America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia. I imagine the only continent without representation is Antarctica. Every once in a while, that means you will encounter some sort of flora that is a bit mysterious. I recently was out taking pictures of one of our office's vacant land listings with fellow AR member Georgie Hunter. We were out in the jungle area of eastern Haiku. Right as we were about to leave … (4 comments)

haiku: Bamboo Homes in Hawaii - 06/04/08 02:02 AM
I continue to field an increasing number of inquiries from buyers who want to build green. One option that I like to make my buyer's aware of comes through a Maui based company. Bamboo technologies is offering attractive, cost effective green homes.
The eco friendly attibutes of bamboo construction are impressive. A conventional home built with lumber from hardwoods may require up to an acre of trees. It takes hardwoods between 30 and 50 years before they can be harvested for timber. Bamboo on the other hand requires harvesting an area not much larger than the footprint of the home. Typically it takes 5-7 years for … (8 comments)

haiku: Pali Makai Estate - 05/27/08 09:29 PM
This one of a kind estate is set on the majestic cliffs of Maui's North Shores. This 5.8 acre oceanfront estate is part of a small gated three lot subivision. The setting really is incomparable and the home itself is a work of art. The owner worked with one of the island's best architects and builders while drawing heavily on influences from the island of Bali to create this one of a kind home.
This estate is offered for $3,850,000. Check out the Pali Makai Estate webpage on MauiRealEstate.com or contact us directly for additional information.
