The Swiftsure International Yacht Race is the premier long distance sailing race in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia area. Starting and ending in Victoria, BC, Canada, the Swiftsure is international because the mid-point markers are in U.S. waters. The Anniversary of the liberation of Holland to Mark the end of World War II in the Netherlands remains (even after 66 years) one of the most, if not the most significant "Celebrations" Although, I was born in 1956, and have no obvious part in WWII, even to this day, it is a day of remembrance and celebration for me.
