If you still need convincing, here are some of the reasons why you should give handmade gifts. 1. It’s the trend Believe it or not but it is all the rage right now to give handmade gifts. real estate: To Keep or not to Keep, that is the Question - 04/23/11 11:44 AM
To Keep or not to Keep, that is the Question
There are many great reasons for having a yard sale.  Some people have yard sales before they move so they don't have to pack and ship belongings they aren't using. Sometimes they are updating the look of their home and sell their old belongings to make money and room for the new ones. Sometimes your children just grow like weeds and rapidly outgrow both their clothes and their toys. It could also simply be the desire to purge all those items you've held onto for so long, thinking you'd find … (7 comments)

real estate: How Will You Tell Your Story ... "Ethical Wills" - 04/21/11 08:15 PM
Telling Your Story In Your Own Words
"Ethical Wills"
You probably did not wait until you officially became a “senior citizen” to prepare your will.  Most of us put one together early in life and at least when we have children and realize we do have assets and we need to make sure the kids are taken care of in the case of an accident that suddenly takes you out of their lives.  So you know well what goes into your will and how to document exactly how you want your estate taken care of in the event of … (4 comments)

real estate: Are Today's Buyers...... Sharks ? - 04/19/11 08:38 PM
Are Today's Buyers.... Sharks ?          Unlike the impression created by some ......                                                          We Don't Think So!!! A few recent blogs would give Buyers, Realtors and Sellers the impression that  buyers are just greedy and acting wrongly when they make low offers. My Questions are :
Does the Seller not have the right to say "NO" to any offer? In what way is it wrong for buyers to want the get the very best possible deal ? Would you as the Agent for your buyer … (2 comments)

real estate: Did you know that April 19th is “get to know your customer day”? - 04/19/11 02:52 PM

Did you know that April 19th is
“get to know your customer day”?
An odd reason to celebrate or have a party, but a great reason for us to have an honest discussion.
In this cold, impersonal world we live and work in, it is rare to actually know the people you work with, buy from, or associate with on a more casual level.
Which is Sad, Don’t you agree?
Knowing interesting things about people certainly makes for some interesting conversations!
Some things about us that you may not know about us…

real estate: HOME INSPECTIONS ARE IMPORTANT FOR HOME OWNERS AS A PART OF REGULAR MAINTENANCE. - 04/19/11 01:15 PM

One of our Favourite Bloggers (Lenn Harley) posted a Pfanntastic reminder on our Favourite Blogging site (Active Rain) about the need to keep a good eye on the condition of your property while you own it....
In our high humidity and rain-forest climate, we know that water and moisture can do a great deal of damage in a relatively short period of time, which is the main cause of problems in and around your home.
Having a professional complete a proper inspection once every 3 to 5 years for your property can and will save a lot of grief, and … (3 comments)

Walking Under a Blanket of Beauty, is how Linda and I felt the other day on a little visit to Downtown Victoria

With a name originating from a Queen..... Victoria, it is easy to forget that Greater Victoria was and is full of history from hundreds and thousands of years prior to the British and Spanish ever setting foot on our Shores. A very significant part of our Greater Victoria heritage, history and the very fabric of  Vancouver Island, its origins, its lifestyle, its beauty and diversity comes from and we forever owe gratitude and respect to the First Nations of the Nootka and Salish who have lived here for thousands of years. The true origins of the first people in our areas … (8 comments)

real estate: What is Our Next and Best Move? - 04/05/11 06:27 PM
What is (Y) Our Next and Best Move?In Real Estate we the "Realtors" often are asked this very important question..... "What is (Y) Our Next and Best Move"? The outcome and results from that "next and best move" can and often time will have serious implications to the overall and financial well-being of our clients. Very early in my life (Peter's that is), My Dad taught me the amazing game of Chess, and although I only ever beat him once (and I still think he let me win that time) the many  lessons I learned from playing chess, with my dad, … (6 comments)

Symphony to my Ears, a Short Lived Marriage, & Power Went to his Head and then they Chopped it off. Just Your "Average" Day in World History...... Symphony to my Ears, Beethoven's Second Symphony was mostly written during Beethoven's stay at Heiligenstadt in 1802, at which time his deafness was becoming more apparent and he began to realize that it might be incurable. We have compiled a bit of a short list of reasons why sellers feel that their home is worth more the the recently sold … (16 comments)
