Copyright Concerns Are all the Rage These Days - 10/23/08 01:18 PM
There is no argument that the US has stringent copyright laws.  They are in place for a reason, to protect the intellectual property of the creator of the original work.  Pure and simple no argument needed.  You can read the law upside down and sideways and in the end it is all the same.
If I wrote it, it is mine.  If I photographed it, it is mine.  With or without a copyright symbol attached to it the work belongs to me.  You can't copy it verbatim and post it on your site.  You can't right click the photo and use … (6 comments)

Packing and Moving-Getting Organized Helps! - 10/19/08 11:15 AM
It doesn't matter how many times you move each time seems to bring a new set of challenges.  Often the move just across town is the hardest as you think maybe I'll just throw the little things in my car and not worry about wrapping them up. It never fails that is the time you have to hit your brakes and everything goes flying.
One of the most important things you can do when you are getting ready for a move is to create a move checklist.  If you are undertaking a "Do it yourself" move start scouring your local Craig's … (8 comments)

Is Kingstowne a City or a Community in Fairfax County? - 10/12/08 02:15 PM
For some reason there seems to be confusion among prospective buyers who are looking at the community of Kingstowne in Fairfax County.  Kingstowne is not a city of its own even though it certainly is larger than some cities in our area.  In fact Kingstowne is a planned community with a postal address of Alexandria but it is located in Fairfax County.  Wow that seems confusing enough even for anyone who has lived in the area their entire lives.
With its convenient location close to two metro stations, Springfield-Franconia on the Blue line and Van Dorn on the Yellow line … (2 comments)

Charlestown-A Springfield VA Neighborhood Welcomes You Home - 10/05/08 11:05 AM
Another great post by Cindy Jones on a local community.  I like the way she weaves information about the community with personnal experience.  Her history series on the Northern Virginia area,  the neighborhoods and commuting are tops on the list of the ones I send out to perspective buyers relocating to the area.
Enjoy!

Via Cindy Jones-Northern Virginia Real Estate & Military Relocation Services:

In the past few months two of my military buyers have decided to call the Charlestown subdivision in West Springfield home.  Having owned a home myself in Charlestown for a number of years, knowing the schools, the commute … (0 comments)
