Fairfax County police are on the lookout for "distracted drivers". As everyone knows there is a no texting and driving law in Virginia. However that certainly hasn't stopped drivers and still is the cause of numerous accidents in our area.
Police will be on the lookout for distracted drivers who may be texting as well as those who may be eating or participating in other distracting activities, such as eating. They will be focusing on major intersections where accidents frequently occur. Tickets may be issued for violations of the law.Stay alert and remember Don't Text and Drive!

As we start planning for the Labor Day Weekend you may want to remember what Fairfax County offices and services will be closed on Monday September 6, 2010.
County Government – Closed
Courts – Closed
Public Schools and School Offices – Closed
Library – Closed Sunday, Sept. 5 and Monday, Sept. 6

For anyone looking to buy a home in Springfield Virginia you will hear the term "school pyramid" used to describe the schools that feed into the four local high schools.West Springfield, Robert E. Lee, South County Secondary School and Lake Braddock Secondary School are the four high schools at the top of the pyramid for children living in Springfield neighborhoods.
