The Navy Band Windjammers was formed in 1985 and are a woodwind group playing duets, trios and quartets.  Members of the Navy Windjammers are also members of the Navy Concert Band.They will be playing this coming Saturday at the Lorton Workhouse Arts Center Gallery.  The concert is free but reservations for tickets are required.  The Lorton Workhouse Arts Center presents a regular schedule of events including musical concerts and art exhibits.  If you haven't made a trip to see how the former DC Reformatory has been converted into a vibrant arts community then put it on your to do list.

Don't forget Saturday September 11th from 6-9 PM is the Second Saturday Art Walk at Lorton Workhouse Arts Center.Over 125 studio artists open up their studios for you to explore.  Receptions are held in each of the Workhouse Art Buildings and it is a great chance to get to meet the arts and learn more about their work.

If you are looking for something different to do in Lorton VA then don't miss movie under the stars at the Lorton Workhouse Arts Center off of Route 123 (Ox Road) at 9517 Worhouse Arts Way.The featured movie for the July 23rd show is Monsters vs Aliens.  A funny animated film by DreamWorks will keep you and your kids entertained.
Films start at 8:30 with "doors" opening at 7:30 with trivia contests and music leading up to the movie.

This Satuday May 8th from 6-9 PM is the Second Saturday Art Walk at the Lorton Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton VA.The Lorton Workhouse Arts Center artists keep their studios open for special tours.  This is a great chance to talk to the artists and if you haven't been to the center before you need to put it on your list of things to do.Saturday is also the last day for the latest exhibit in the gallery, Urban Decay.  Featuring low brow art and custom vinyl art, it is not your usual art display!
