springfield virginia: Two Springfield (VA) Neighborhoods-Matching Models and Ammenities - 02/18/09 03:47 PM
If you are traveling down Rolling Road between Lake Braddock Road and the Fairfax County Parkway you will pass two communities that look very similar. There is a reason for this similarity. Both communities were built by Richmarr homes starting in the late 1960's and feature the same style brick homes.Kings Park is the bigger of the two communities with 1100 homes to West Springfield Village's 423 homes but the models are the same, King, Queen, Prince, Duke and Duchess. Besides having the same model homes available in both neighborhoods, Richmarr also left many of the large trees on the quarter

springfield virginia: Neighborhood Experts-How Do You Decide Who is Best to Sell Your Home? - 01/02/09 03:26 PM
The good thing about the internet is that it has made much of the real estate transaction transparent to a buyer or seller. The bad thing about the internet is that it has created a plethera of "neighborhood experts" who all claim to know more about one neighborhood than the next agent. So how does a consumer decide? My best advice is to talk to more than one agent when you are ready to sell your current home. Knowing your neighborhood may be important but is it the #1 thing you should consider? What about how well an agent has done in listing

springfield virginia: Bigger is Not Always Better - 01/02/09 03:05 PM
Recently I needed to find a register cover for an odd size vent in an older Springfield home. Fortunately I recalled a post that Cindy Jones had written back in December 2007 about Fishers Hardware. Sure enough with the old register cover in hand they were able to pull out the right size replacement. I was in and out of the store in 10 minutes, the same amount of time it might have taken me to just find a parking space at one of the other hardware stores in the area.Reading local blogs turns up all kinds of useful information!
