Summer is finally here, bringing more hot days and hopefully cool nights. Now that the Community Pool is open, that takes care of the hot days, but the cool nights need something to do as well, and this fits the bill.
The Wallingford Twilight Tunes Concert Series is set to kick off on July 5th and every Wednesday night through August 16th, bringing some of the area’s best musical acts to Wallingford. These concerts always bring out a big crowd, so bring your chairs and get there early, it fills up fast!

Don't look now, but the 47th edition of the Most Holy Trinity Bazaar is here! Beginning tonight, June 5th, and running through Saturday, June 10th, this popular event is in its 47th year of providing fun and excitement for kids of all ages. Located at Most Holy Trinity Church at 84 No. Colony Road in Wallingford, this edition of the bazaar once again promises to have enough food, rides, games, prizes, plants, raffles and fun on tap to keep everyone happy! When I was a kid, we had a dog who loved to chase frisbees.
Notice I said "chase", not "catch".
If you threw the frisbee, Shep would run underneath it and watch it until it hit the ground, then he'd wait until it was finished bouncing, rolling, skidding or otherwise came to a full stop before he'd pick it up and bring it back to you, covered in doggy drool, and drop it at your feet, waiting for you to launch it into space again.

This time around we have had the pleasure of featuring the work of a very talented group of photographers, the Wallingford Camera Club.
Founded in 1976, the Wallingford Camera Club has long offered a friendly, pressure-free environment for anyone interested in photography to learn and share photography information. Everybody loves it when the carnival comes to town!
Once again, Wallingford's Church of the Resurrection is sponsoring their annual carnival April 27th through the 30th in the parking lot adjacent to the church. The weather forecast for the four day event is for rain on Wednesday morning followed by bright sunshine in the afternoon, partly cloudy on Thursday, mostly sunny on Friday, and mostly cloudy for Saturday, with temps ranging from 61 to 70 degrees. But regardless of the weather, everyone will enjoy the fun, games, rides and great food that always accompanies this much anticipated first carnival of the season!

Since the start of January it has been our pleasure to feature the work of another local artist on our "Wallingford Inspires..." art wall, Patricia Tencza Reig. Pat is a 5th generation Wallingford resident and retired nurse. She started with with pen and ink designs but now favors smooth pastels as her favorite medium, and her favorite scenes to paint are landscapes and beach scenes. Pat expresses her lifelong love of art to making her own clothes, Halloween costumes, and curtains and drapes for her home. Where does the time go?? It seems like just yesterday it was Summer and we were basking in the warmth of the long days, and Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed a long way off.
