Historic Habitat Near Harbor - 12/31/10 12:24 AM
Historic Habitat Near HarborToday i was called on to give a price to a bank on this beautiful classic home near the waterfront in Everett. This truly is one of my favorite areas of Everett, with a view walkway near by, a small park, and lots and lots of grand, historical homes. This historic habitat is near the harbor, and bespeaks the elegance and grandeur of a time gone by.A historic habitat near harbor.I took the pictures, and hurried to the office to give them to Liz so she could upload them, along with the other information needed by the bank to give … (1 comments)

Modest Abode in Marysville - 12/31/10 12:14 AM
Modest Abode in MarysvilleToday I was called on to price this modest abode in Marysville, Washington.Home was several years old, in a private enclave of homes around cul-de-sacs.It was already abandoned, with the first interior property inspection already done. The foreclosure notice was on the door.I took the pictures, shot a video, and came back to the office where Liz was filling in the information for the bank online.A modest abode in Marysville. Soon to add to the ranks of foreclosed houses in our state.Sad but true.

Are we doing the best thing for our clients??? - 12/30/10 06:42 AM
Here is an important warning about your potential liability after the close of your short sale. Be careful who you list with!
I think thousands of people will be getting those nasty calls and letters over the next few years! Banks are giving up getting paid now, then stepping in after the former homeowner gets their job back, or their life back together, and say, you have no home for collateral, but you still owe us the money!

Gone are the days when we will move heaven and earth to complete a pricing task in 24 hours.Where is it? I have enjoyed driving all around our area for pricing property in Paradise. My very first opportunity to price a property was a waterfront home on Bainbridge Island. Appraisers charge $1800 … (1 comments)

Clever, Collaborative Construction Gal - 12/27/10 12:18 AM
Clever, Collaborative Construction GalOur kids from Oregon were here over Christmas week. We spent most of one day in  the Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett, Washington. Much of the time our older granddaughter was the concierge at the restaurant. She would invite people in, help them find a seat and take their order. We agreeably went in, but the service was terrible and the food tasted like hard plastic. None of the chefs seemed to be coordinated. So we moved on. But she stayed, interacting happily with strangers as they came in.Later, when it was time for an afternoon snack, we … (0 comments)

The Laser Diffusion ProjectorMy older grandson is fascinated by anything mechanical or digital.Last time he was with us he discovered Google Earth and was transfixed by exploring the world. Soon he was in outer space with Google Sky and doing things and finding things that I had never discovered. This last visit all of us spent most of a day at the Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett, Washington. Many of the places were exciting. But the place he kept going back to was this room where your image was projected on the screen. Ginger Bread Houses - 2010When our children were very little my wife Patti started making Ginger Bread houses. It has become a tradition for us.In the early days we used to make and decorate 6 or 8 houses and give them to neighbors and friends. Now our grandchildren are coming up. Things have gotten easier. A while ago we started buying kits that already had everything in them. All we had to do was assemble and decorate. This year was even easier yet. Costco now sells Ginger Bread Houses that are fully assembled. Just open the decorating ingredients and let the creativity begin. Here … (3 comments)

The Christmas Story - Leng Version 2010 - 12/25/10 06:20 AM
The Christmas Story - Leng Version 2010We had Christmas a couple of days early this year.In our family we have a tradition of de-emphasizing the gifts and emphasizing the fact that Christmas is ALL about the birth of Jesus - God incarnate. So we have a time of reading the story, or acting it out, or having different ones read different parts. Now there are little ones, so the story was told by flannelgraph.Of course, music about the entrance of God into our world in human flesh goes back hundreds of years. So there is always lots of singing. The perennial favorite … (1 comments)

It was at what used to be the TGIF restaurant at Park Place in Kirkland.Of course, the first question when planning the Keller Williams Kirkland Christmas party was - formal or casual? That's What Christmas is All About Charlie Brown - 12/17/10 05:21 AM
It is almost Christmas time. Plans are set. Family is coming together. Presents are bought and wrapped. I even found a Christmas countdown widget which I installed on the side of my blog.
But the meaning of Christmas? That doesn't come from culture, or family, or sentiment.
The meaning comes from what happened in a manger 2000 years ago.
Here is what Christmas is all about - the Charlie Brown version.

They would feel like they had not earned their fee if they did not produce a list of problems.Remember, an old house has been there 100 years (or however long). It hasn’t crumbled into the dirt.
