peoria events: Sports Programs in Peoria AZ - 09/16/09 01:05 PM

The Peoria Sports Complex is a hotbed of activity. Several sports programs will be available in Peoria AZ during the month of September. On September 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th, the Saturday and Sunday leagues for the Men's Adult Baseball League will participate in 8am and 10:30am games to be played on the practice fields. When the City of Peoria introduced curbside recycling a year ago, they were hoping it would create a 15% diversion rate for recycled waste. Happily, Peoria residents exceeded their expectations by helping the city collect over 15,000 tons of recyclable waste, for a 23% diversion rate. As a "thank you" for residents' efforts, the city is offering free tickets to the final night game of the season for the Peoria Saguaros vs the Peoria Javelinas at the Peoria Sports Complex on Thursday, November 12th. There's so much going on in the Phoenix area this week. Every Saturday, the Challenger Space Center in Peoria offers visitors a chance to fly a simulated space-mission for children in 3rd grade and older. Prices vary and reservations are required. For more information on this fun way to learn about space, visit the Arizona Challenger website. Also this weekend (September 6 & 7), the Lowrider Super Show comes to the Phoenix Convention Center.
