Have You Taken a Good HARD Look at Where Your Business is REALLY Coming From? - 03/29/09 06:31 PM

As a follow up to a previous blog, Where Is It All Coming From?, I thought I'd give it a little time to sink in and really take a hard look at where my business  IS coming from, at least via the Internet.  If you haven't taken a good look at how consumers are accessing your Internet presence you may be wasting valuable time (& money) spinning your wheels on fruitless efforts.  Through my Yahoo Web Manager I can see that my pesky pay-per-click ad, is actually paying off with  over 46% of consumers finding my website through Google Adwords.  You can also … (16 comments)

With 100s of Homes on the Market in Your Area; How Does Your Home Compete? - 03/23/09 11:36 PM
NAR Released that over 87% of today's Home Buyers first "shop" the internet, or narrow down their "list" of properties to view in person, solely by how a home is marketed and perceived on the Internet by number and quality of the photographs of the home. But did you also know:
That only 10% of Potential Buyers can envision the home's true potential?

Is THIS how your home is being viewed on the Internet?  Wouldn't you rather it look like this?

What is this room for? Don't leave Buyer's guessing.

Awkward floor plans, what to do?  Staging … (49 comments)

A different perspective on home staging photography - 03/12/09 09:47 AM

It's happened to all of us, when taking pictures of our prized works or property we inevitably find ourselves sometimes making our own grand appearances in the reflections of our photography.  You know what I mean, you take "the perfect shot" only to get back to the office and find yourself, camera pressed to your eye, in the reflection of a mirror.
Keeping the rules of design in mind when Staging or decorating a home, that a mirror should only be placed if it is reflecting something beautiful, you can also use this to your advantage to take some … (34 comments)

Home Staging Definitely "Leads" Buyers - 03/12/09 09:27 AM

Upon entering this house as a Buyer looking for a home, where would you go from here?  Human nature would say, "To the left, that's where the living spaces are."  However in this home the floor plan is flipped. Guest bedrooms are on the 1st floor, the Kitchen, Living spaces and Master bedroom are actually located on the 2nd floor.

Following their instincts, Buyers and Realtors when looking for a huge kitchen and living room would immediately turn left to three empty bedrooms, and were a bit befuddled.   Once Buyers and Realtors DID go up the stairs this … (7 comments)

Protecting your OUTdoor inventory - 03/06/09 10:19 PM
I blogged this almost 1 year ago, but felt it was a great time to re-post it as reminder. As we are fast approaching the Summer Season (for some of us it's already here!) more and more requests are going to be asked for Staging of outdoor areas.  Front porches, tea gardens, pool areas or cabanas (lanai's=), BBQ areas or outdoor dining to name just a few.
Being in SoCal, there is NO downtime for this request, as our lifestyle revolves around the sun and our never ending "worship" of it and the beautiful outdoor areas and vistas the landscape provides.  … (14 comments)

Replace or Embrace? – that is the Question - 03/05/09 07:46 PM
Have you ever walked into a home and had something hit you as just off, not right or just didn't fit in with the rest of the home?  All of us have, and this home was no exception. I was called in on a Home Staging in Santa Barbara, CA which had been almost totally renovated.  New floors, new skim coat and paint, new recessed lighting - then I saw "it".  "It" was brass, and crystal,  dull and dusty.  "It" was already the replacement of what was previously there because the family had run out of money to finish the home … (18 comments)

WHERE is it all coming from?!?!? - 03/05/09 07:24 PM
Do you know where it is all coming from?  Your bussiness I mean; do you know?  Is it coming from referrals, your website, your mailers?  Are you sure?  Have you ever bothered to ASK new clients how it is that they found you?
Answering a couple of these questions could save you hundreds of dollars in advertising if you just ASK, or do a little research.  This post is also a follow up to, "If You Can't Toot Your Own Horn, Then You're Just Blowing It!".  When it comes to marketing, you need to know if you're hitting the right notes … (8 comments)
