Platinum Home Staging, Inc. has Staged MANY homes, but it had been SO-O long since we had done a mid-century modern style, that quite frankly we couldn't even find the pictures in our back-up hard drive.  Since that time we have also greatly increased our inventory and found some additionally fabulous vendors that  really helped to make this Home Staging SING!

Sometimes Home Staging Involves Simple Mathematics - 08/23/09 06:35 PM
Sometimes Home Staging can be simple mathematics: addition and subtraction.  In this case, Platinum Home Staging, Inc. was called by the Home Owners to Stage their beautiful newly constructed Tuscan Villa located on the Westlake Village Island.  They needed additional space for their additional grandchildren to come visit (seems they hadn't thought about their children multiplying so quickly). 
So to maximize the results of the equation, we stuck to simple mathematics:

By subtracting the negative spaces and clutter, and adding drama and focal points.

Maybe, maybe not - but it sure can save you a LOT of headaches and aspirin! 

Does Home Staging involve swallowing a big pill? Comments on a previous blog post raised my level of thinking about how the Home Staging industry is perceived, and you can read what prompted this blog post in the comments here.  Now I've never personally touted that Home Staging is THE "Magic Pill" to sell a home faster in today's market, however I do firmly believe that it has certainly helped the properties which we have Staged sell MUCH more quickly. Recently I posted a blog about a rather awkward location for a "door"  in a home we recently Staged in Oxnard, CA Mandalay Beach.  The Owner had aptly dubbed the home, "the house of doors" and she hit the nail on the head.

A Glimpse Into What Goes On Behind the "Scenes" - 08/06/09 10:48 AM
We recently Staged a beautiful, architectural home in Oxnard, CA. The home had been on the market for a time with little interest, so the Owners & Realtor called Platinum Home Staging, Inc. to come in, Stage the home and make sense of it's awkward floor plan.
However, the Owners wanted to be present while we worked our magic. We politely explained that they would probably get a bit overwhelmed by everything that goes on "behind the scenes" as we Staged the home, and it would better to come back for the "big reveal" later that day.
