connie tebyani: K.I.S.S. your house goodbye this Spring!!! - 04/06/09 06:05 PM
One of the easiest ways to breath new life into your home when selling is to bring the outdoors IN. You also don't have to spend a small fortune buying fresh flowers at the store to do it. Look in your yard, your garden, or your local parks for budding flowers or stems with colors and textures. But don't go over board, doing small settings or a lot of one item is best to create a great impact for buyers while touring your home. Here are a few examples that Platinum Home Staging, Inc. has recently done when Staging Homes in

connie tebyani: With 100s of Homes on the Market in Your Area; How Does Your Home Compete? - 03/23/09 11:36 PM
NAR Released that over 87% of today's Home Buyers first "shop" the internet, or narrow down their "list" of properties to view in person, solely by how a home is marketed and perceived on the Internet by number and quality of the photographs of the home. But did you also know: That only 10% of Potential Buyers can envision the home's true potential? Is THIS how your home is being viewed on the Internet? Wouldn't you rather it look like this? What is this room for? Don't leave Buyer's guessing. Awkward floor plans, what to do? Staging

connie tebyani: Think of it as a $100,000 Home Selling stimulus Package - 02/11/09 06:50 PM
Based on statistics of my company, we have injected OVER $100,000 into the economy and we didn't need the President, Senate or the House of Representatives to do it! How? Simple mathematics and smart partnerships. Despite the fact that there is over a 10 month inventory of homes for sale in Southern California, our smart partnerships with Realtors, Home Owners and Developers, our homes are still selling within an average of 8 weeks (although some in just days) So for example purposes, today I'm going to use an average of 3 months. *Assisting a Developer get his remodeled, multi-million dollar home SOLD

connie tebyani: These Ain't Your Grandma's Wallpapers - Part 2 - 01/18/09 06:50 PM
Several months ago I posted a blog about wallpapers - yes, they are back in style and with a vengeance. Keeping in mind that the rules of decorating doesn't give permission to plaster your entire living room in blue and dusty rose floral prints, or that each room have a different paper or trim boarder. However, when done in small spaces, or on ONE focal wall in a larger room, a great wallpaper can add visual impact, texture and warmth. As promised in the previous post These Ain't Your Grandma's Wallpapers, some of our favorite distributors were mentioned and we promised

connie tebyani: Keeping your home clean while selling it doesn't have to be a headache! - 01/18/09 02:29 PM
Function, Function, MULTI - Function is key in acheiving this. As more and more Sellers are living in their homes while they are on the market it is imperative that every piece of furniture chosen to Stage the home is multi - functional. Many Sellers have children, infants or even pets still in the home which need to be taken into consideration. One of the hardest things for Sellers to do is to ensure to keep the home show ready at a moment's notice. In this tough economy, telling a potential Buyer to give you 24 hours notice to view your home may

connie tebyani: Try this Brain Teaser for 2009 - 12/30/08 09:37 AM
How will you succeed in 2009? The answer is quite simple: By thinking outside of the box. If you are running your business and beating the same dead-horse that you were even 1 year ago, you are ultimately going to see some very hard times in the coming year. So to get your creative juices flowing, try this brain teaser and see how you do. This "test" was actually something that was used quite frequently back in my years of Retail and Operations Management, and it still holds true today. Something I refer back to frequently in my mind's eye to remind

connie tebyani: Home Staging is not just for selling homes - 12/29/08 10:02 AM
One of the (many) things that I have been so busy working on in recent weeks is expanding my business into areas and markets beyond selling homes. The term "selling" a home is actually quite broad and varied. Think about it - "Selling" a home is not just for selling homes. An idea came to me as my family was looking at various vacation homes via the internet (of course) and came across numerous homes that I am sure were quite nice. However their internet presence and photos turned us off completely and we moved on to the next - pardon

connie tebyani: My Gift to You - the Whole Year Through - 12/10/08 09:20 AM
....Literally - I know it has nothing to do with Home Staging, but I wanted to thank everyone who has been so generous with words of advice, wisdom, support and sometimes a swift kick in the a**; with something I KNOW everyone will use! I have to say that over the past year, myself and my staff have tried almost every single one of these and have never been let down (when you folow the instructions of course - we won't talk about a few mishaps of "forgotten coookies in the oven" during Staff Meetings) Bookmark this page and visit it whenever

connie tebyani: 2008 - Home Staging Review - 12/05/08 05:57 PM
********************************************************* I must admit that considering the current economy, when it comes to selling a home or property; Home Staging will deffinetly give you your biggest bang for marketing dollar. HOMES ARE SELLING!!! Buyer's ARE buying IF your home or listing is the BEST on the market at the RIGHT PRICE. For so little money, which such

connie tebyani: If listing a home this (or any) holiday - PLEASE READ! - 11/20/08 09:50 AM
This blog is for Realtors, Sellers & Stagers alike regarding the photography that might be taken this season to sell your listing or home. Home Owners: Although you might be tempted to trek out the HUGE holiday tree and all the trimmings please keep in mind a few things before you go overboard on the trimmings. Your house, while on the market for sale, is no longer your home - it is a product for sale. While you should still live in your home, be aware of what you put out first and what might be included in your listing photography.

connie tebyani: "OMG, are you kidding me?!" - to "SWEET!" - 11/11/08 09:27 AM
Platinum Home Staging, Inc. was contacted by the home owner of a condo in the Pacific Palisades, CA for a Staging Bid. After turning the appointment into a Staging Consultation, the Home Owners knew they were going to need to put some good 'ol fashioned elbow grease into the house before they could list it at a price that was competitive in their market. (A Staging Consultation is a room-by-room action plan of what needed to be completed by the Home Owners before Staging could take place, and repairs that need to be done before the home is placed on the

connie tebyani: ALL HALE Hero Harlen! I used the caped Crusader of Plagiarism... - 11/03/08 06:29 PM
As this has been a hot topic on AR, especially in recent weeks, I thought I would share my experience with AR's Crusader of Plagiarism. One would think that having the Copyscape banner on every single page of my website would be sufficient. One would think that doing "monthly" checks through my Copyscape Premium Account would be enough. And yet, just two weeks ago my site was plagiarized by a Home Stager across the country. Even though the person was not a member of AR, this infraction was taken care of quite quickly and painlessly. But since it was

connie tebyani: Water - everything to do about CA, and nothing to do about Staging. - 10/24/08 11:21 AM
Earlier this year, you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing, "California is going through a major water shortage, start conserving now." I'm not sure what stopped those messages from airing, nor do I know if they were being broadcast in other areas outside of Southern CA. What I DO know is that there is still a GRAVE water shortage: even more so than even I was aware of until just recent days. A friend on Facebook posted some pictures of Shasta Lake, located in Northern CA. (Sacramento & San Francisco is NOT "Northern" in my book. You have to drive

connie tebyani: Getting the look for Less - Bedding 101 - 10/11/08 04:19 PM
How many times have you walked into a room and seen all signs of life sucked out of it? Bedrooms more specifically... How many times have you walked into a home and seen the "master suite bed" look like this? "Clean & White" in this instance is usually portrayed as lack-luster or forgotten about. Remember, most people spend over 33% of their lifetime IN THEIR BED! Why not make it the MOST welcoming, MOST luxurious, SHOW STOPPING stop in the house? Even if you're not selling your home, updating the look and feel of your bed can only benefit all parties

connie tebyani: So what exactly IS Twitter? - 10/07/08 09:14 AM
Whilst touring through our vast internet I came across a Widget on a blog that said "Twitter". I had heard of it before but never investigated it for myself. Of course my curiosity peeked: I clicked on it and was sent into a whole other dimension. "What fun!" I thought as I made a cute little wall paper, customized the colors and fonts...."What's this?" I thought as I perused the formats..."I have to add a comment? I'll do that later..." Long story short: I have NO idea what Twitter IS, and in the last 24 hours I have had 7 requests for people to

connie tebyani: Do You Smile-box? - 10/02/08 10:59 PM
I do! Every time I meet someone new, learn somthing new or want to share something with my friends and customers. I blogged about this before, breifly, but just wanted to share directly with everyone exactly what Smilebox is. Smilebox is a FREE download from Hallmark. You only pay for it if you want to be able to print it out for your own brochures. ($39.99 unlimited for 1 year, or $4.99 if billed monthly) Otherwise it is COMPLETELY FREE to use, change, email, blog, whatever; as long as you don't mind a 5 second snippet of an "ad". There are literally

connie tebyani: These 'aint your grandma's Wallpapers! - 09/25/08 02:02 AM
Who would have thought that your grandma's tea cups on the walls in the kitchen, the metallic floral or the burlesque velvet wallpapers would be back "in"? OK - maybe none of the above, but the wallpapers of today are very cool and are VERY much the new and hot "in" option to simply painting your walls. Whether it is simply adding a new texture or raised pattern to your walls to then paint over with your favorite color or adding natural beauty and drama, here are three of my favorites. My #1 all time favorites are the Phillip Jefferies
