home staging: While Visions of Sugar Plums Danced in Their Heads... - 12/17/10 10:26 AM
This is a great family home with 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, grand "open" floor plan, 2 car detached garage with pool, hot tub, and a Pool House complete with its own full bath and kitchenette located in a quiet neighborhood in Northridge, CA. You would think that the description alone would sell the house by itself. But this Developer knew that the "grand" open floor plan would be confusing to most Northridge Buyers, and while the home definitely had its ammenaties, it also had its challenges. This is the 4th Home we have Staged for this Developer and while the house looked like

home staging: Staging is for LIVING to! - 11/13/10 05:27 PM
My Company was recently contacted by gentleman who was in desperate need of setting up a new new home for himself and his 2 young daughters. He was referred to us by a Realtor Friend who had recently used our services to Stage a Topanga Canyon home for sale. Knowing how quickly we were able to respond to her and the excellent service she had received to Stage her listing; she suggested that he contact us to Stage his home to LIVE. Contacted on a Thursday morning; we heard his plight and agreed to meet later that same evening. Yep - not a single

home staging: Home Staging in North Ranch, Westlake Village - 09/17/10 10:59 AM
Great Home Staging doesn't have to break your bank, especially if you are still living in your home. Recently My Company was called by a Seller in the North Ranch area of Westlake Village, CA. She wants to sell her home to move on with her life, maybe even tour the world. But listing against 3 other homes within a block of her own, she knew that her home needed to stand out. However the Living Room of her home was completely void of furniture simply because she, "never knew what to do with it." Since this was the first room that

home staging: It's ALL About the RUG! - 09/14/10 09:29 AM
Some Interior Designs or Home Stagers will literally start a design plan "from the rug up". An area rug anchors a room, defines living spaces and how they are used as well as sets the mood or feeling of the lifestyle to be enjoyed in the space. This is a great example of how a RUG can completely change the entire feeling of a room. In this picture; the rug is warm and traditional. Earth tones of gold and rust in a familiar pattern with a simple boarder lends itself to the feeling of "familiarity" to an open living space. You can just imagine sitting by

home staging: You're right! Home staging doesn't help sell homes!!! - 09/05/10 10:57 AM
From a Fellow Stager and Good Friend, Janice Sutton. Adding a Professional Home Stager to your Real Estate Team is imperative in today';s market place and I couldn't have said it better myself. So I won't, I'll let Janice; read on.... Via Janice Sutton - Temecula Murrieta Home Stager - Home Staging (1st Stage Property Transformations ): NOT! :) Ok so have you ever heard that Home Staging Doesn't Help Sell Homes or perhaps maybe you have said Home Staging will not work for my properties. Well, to be honest, after over 5 years in the Home Staging Business, I have

home staging: Time to Get Your Close-Ups! - 09/05/10 10:49 AM
Sometimes the most important feelings that can be invoked in a Buyer as they tour a home can get lost while trying to photograph an entire room. While Staging Homes in the Los Angeles and Ventura County areas, My Company attends to all the "little" details that buyers will respond to. You can imagine what Buyers would be feeling while touring these homes, just with one, simple picture. Don't be afraid to get artistic with your camera, your lenses, your angles. You might just surprise yourself at what you can capture through your camera. Happily Staging Homes for over

home staging: Sometimes Color Happens - 08/28/10 12:30 PM
... a NEW color that it is. A GOOD color that I never would have thought of... and quite frankly never planned on using. Yet somehow it was destiny and all fell into place. Initially Our Home Staging plan was to on use plum as the accent color for Staging this Sherman Oaks home, because I was told by my furniture vendor that the sofas (which I had never used before) were plum. Soooo I went out and bought some beautiful plum bedding for the Master Bedroom, some fabulous plum pillows for the kids beds, etc but then when I went to my rug Vendor to

home staging: Would You Prefer...... - 08/23/10 11:02 AM
Would you prefer to have your Listing look like this? Or Like this? Would you prefer to host an open House in a listing like this? Or like this? Would you prefer your MLS photos to look like this? Or like this? Would a Buyer know what to do with a space like this? Or this? Would your BUYER prefer to see a home that looks like this? Or like this? Would your BUYER be drawn to a room like this? Or this? Would you be proud to bring your Buyer to a listing like this? Or

home staging: Let's Play a Game of "Where's Waldo" - 08/21/10 04:49 PM
Ahhhh Mirrors: ya gotta love them. They make the rooms look bigger, reflect amazing views, they can double the impact of artwork or balance the weight of a heavy fireplace or wall treatment. But they can be a royal pain in the you-know-what when it comes time to take pictures for MLS or of finished Home Staging projects. What inspired this post was when I was trying to get a great shot of a Master Bathroom we Staged this past week and just couldn't seem to get that "JUST right" picture - so I was trying different angles.... and

home staging: Home Staging Books - 08/15/10 01:24 PM
This is a quick perspective on Home Staging books. No, I'm not talking about books which teach you how to Stage your home, or even about how to become a home stager - I'm talking about how to USE books to Stage a home. We all know books can, and should, be used when Staging built in shelving units, but here are a few other ideas on how you can inexpensively use books to help Stage your Homes to sell and fill space without sending a bundle of $$$ at the accessory store. Small stacks of

home staging: Home Staging a Fabulous Los Angeles Wilshire Blvd Condo - 08/07/10 12:31 AM
One request that seems to be on the wish-list of every Buyer today is an "Open Floor Plan". Often times though the first thing a Buyer will say once they are SHOWN an open floor plan is, "Where does my ______ go?" You can fill in the blank, because they are left wondering about everything simply because they don't know where they would place their sofa, desk, TV, etc. simply because "walls" seem to be ingrained into our human Psyche. Lofts and Condos are no different, and typically command higher asking prices with healthy monthly HOA Fees. These Sellers were

home staging: We're on a ROLL! Home Staging in Encino, CA - 08/03/10 09:58 AM
This family home in Encino, CA is located on a quiet, tree lined street. Has an ample sized back yard, but a very "odd" floor plan. Or that is how it was explained to us by the Listing Realtor when Platinum Home Staging, Inc. was called in to Stage this home. If a seasoned Realtor, who sees hundreds of homes thought that it had a challenging floor plan, then just consdier what prospective buyers might think! This Developer and Realtor KNEW that Staging this Encino home would be key to a quick sale. We were called on Monday, the house was Staged to

home staging: A Brilliant New Alternative: Wine for Staging, Entertaining and SO Much More! - 07/31/10 12:29 PM
Vino Luci Wine Bottles These are the Vino Luci Collection from TuscanHomeDecor.com which are amazing and the possibilities seem endless: actual wine bottles turned functional and beautiful. The brilliance is that they come complete with LED candles which are flameless and heatless, but look like real dripping candles inside the bottles. Imagine an elegant dinner party with cheese trays and wine tastings; collected as centerpieces for an outdoor dinner party; a touch of whimsy on a mantle for a little bit of the "unexpected". A collection of the blue and white together would make a beautiful nautical statement, as well as be the talk of the town at a Chanukah Party,

home staging: I'm NOT a Realtor, but I WILL Help You Sell Your Home! - 07/19/10 11:01 AM
"Price, Condition, Presentation" NAR released that almost 93% of today's Home Buyer "shops" for their next home via the Internet and marketing presentation of each home. Did you also know that only about 10% Buyers can visualize a home's true potential and be able to actually "see" past the awkward floor plan, cavernous spaces or home owner "clutter"? We think the proof is in the pudding and thought we would share just a FEW of the successes we have been a part of in just the past couple months of 2010. No, we're NOT Realtors, but we will help you to

home staging: Out of sight IS out of mind. Banish thy clutter! - 07/18/10 10:50 PM
This is an excellent blog post by a ReMax Realtor in PA. Richard gets it. He's seen it, he's heard it, he's lived it; and has some great suggestions on how to get PAST it - "clutter". Via Richard Strahm (RE/MAX Realty Group - Harleysville, PA): I'm a pack rat. I live a cluttered life style. I collect things, on purpose and inadvertently. And I'm fine with it. Because I'm not trying to sell my house! But you shouldn't be fine with it when trying to sell. Too many times when I'm listing a home for sale, the owners will dismiss

home staging: So, you've used one in the PAST, but are they still in business TODAY? - 07/12/10 12:28 PM
So you have used a Home Stager in the past, That's GREAT! But are they still in business? In recent weeks our Company has been in contact with MANY Realtors in the Ventura and Los Angeles County areas and we are thrilled to hear that so many of them have used a Home Stager in the past. But what about the present? Since Platinum Home Staging, Inc. networks with many other Home Stagers and Companies ourselves; during the course of conversation we would often inquire, "That's fantastic that you have used a Stager before. Do you mind if we ask what Company that was?" (We always
