First of all, I find it hilarious how everybody is an expert these days :-) With msnbc, local news, zillow, etc, everybody seems to be a real estate expert! I had a buyer prospect tell me last night that the reason he is not willing to make a move on a property just yet is because he is waiting for the market to hit rock bottom first. Think the owner is a Florida Gators fan?
So I recently sold a house that had the most hideous paint job(not the one above). Not only did the exterior look like a creamsickle, but the interior was a mix of lime green, bright pink and orange. I felt like I was walking through a bag of skittles! Honestly Mr. Seller... do you really think buyers are going to be attracted to your horrible taste in paint?

HAVE OPEN HOUSES BECOME A WASTE OF TIME???
 
So pretty much every realtor I have spoken to lately has said that open houses are simply a waste of time. Do you agree? This can be argued either way because some say that open houses are still a great way to meet buyers and promote your listings. Others cannot wait to find fellow agents to hold their opens for them (I am guilty of this). Holding my own listings open never used to bother me at all.
