From Flyers to Internet - 01/24/12 11:25 AM

As we start the year in full swing, and as the Spring Market falls closer and closer, what have you been doing to market and brand yourself? As part of a marketing campaign I have a flyer that I send out in Philadelphia wherever I go, and I am not shy about it. It has many different ways to get some type of real estate information, for Philadelphia homes for sale, and those looking for Philly real estate, and it works....but, how can I get it to work online as well?

So I have been given the nickname “Socrates” due to periods of cogitating, and with doing so, getting the answer needed using the Socratic Method, i.e. “named after the Socrates classical Greek Philosopher , is a form of inquiry and debate between individuals with opposing viewpoints based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to illuminate ideas. It is a dialectical method, often involving an oppositional discussion in which the defense of one point of view is pitted against the defense of another; one participant may lead another to contradict him … (1 comments)

Things that make you go hmmmm..... - 01/17/12 06:10 PM

Ever had this kind of day...???? I am sure you have... What is happening in today's Philadelphia Real Estate Market??? I wish I could transport back to the early Y2K years, "Beam me up Scotty," but I can not perform that kind of miracle. Don't ask me to try and turn water to wine or walk on water 'cause you may be disappointed when I hand you a bottle of spring water or sink in your bath tub. What has sold in your neighborhood is what the market currently has to offer. Will the market increase like it had … (0 comments)

***Rat's Petooty....Who Gives a Rat's a..???**** - 01/15/12 07:29 PM

Sitting here with my Masonic Ballcap on and eating chili and home-baked bread in Philadelphia, while others are searching for Philadelphia Homes for Sale...but I could be eating Lumpia and Rice....something a little different from "traditional" American Homes. Yes I eat foods from other cultures...I'd better considering my wife is Filipino...
But that is not the purpose of this blog...her cookbook coming soon...I hope...I want to semi-retire young...:-)
Look...all too often do we hear of real estate agents complaining about how the market is, or their client has, or, is not loyal to them. What are they … (0 comments)

Okay...They Didn't Tell You I was Superman...well just for the weekend.... - 01/13/12 05:29 PM

Yes this weekend I will be putting on my Super Hero tights and zooming into Internetland....never mind TMI....I think that will get a great laugh as well.

But....without the tights I will be working on my Blogs, sprucing up some of my ads, and writing a few articles...what are you doing this weekend? Yes take some downtime, I prefer early in the morning...and I mean early, before the cocks crow, the Sun dawns, and when everyone else is sleeping, I'll be working.

All too often we do not take that quiet time … (5 comments)

What Type of a Leader are ***YOU?*** or do you stand by the water-cooler??? - 01/13/12 10:19 AM

When I was in the Military I loved the regimented way everything was done, from the Brass down. You knew what was expected of you, you knew who to take orders from, and you knew at what time to eat, sleep, and whatever else needed to be done; of course combat situations changed the schedule, but the foundations still applied.

Now fast forward to present day...those leadership skills I learned in the Military have been used throughout my travel in life, but there is much difference in the Civilian World. In the … (0 comments)

How to Write Out Your Goals - 01/12/12 11:42 AM

Diary of a Whimpy REALTOR

This is a very simple task to do...just grab a piece of paper and start writing.
So....I figured the best way to keep track with my goals is to write them and share them.
The best way to get to your dollar amount for the year is to break it down to the simplest number, eat the elephant one bite at a time, and have an action plan to support your goals....

My goal is to earn $300,000 for the year of 2012 from my real estate business. Very specific.
My price range … (2 comments)

Are Brokerage Offices in Danger? - 01/12/12 09:34 AM

Diary of a Whimpy REALTOR

My wife asked me a very interesting question the other night, and it really made me think. Now what I am about to post I am sure there will be some that may not agree; but it is what it is.

Her question was “Considering real estate agents are in business for themselves, why do they have to be under a Broker?” My answer “Because the Broker takes the legal responsibility.” But then she asked “Isn't that what Errors and Omissions Insurance is for? If that is the case then why does … (5 comments)

How Big are Your Huevos Lady? - 01/11/12 06:59 PM

Diary of a Whimpy REALTOR

Well...the word “huevos” can mean two things, eggs or...; reading this post you'll know which to refer to.
I submitted an agreement on a property and called the agent to let her know I submitted it; at 1 pm. She decided to call me back, after 8 pm, and was rather irate in her message because I did not answer my phone. I called her back the following day, around 10 am, and left another message; she returned my call around 11:30 am.
This is how the conversation went....
“Hi Peter this is … (8 comments)

It is now 9 days into the New Year and I have just one question for you. Do you have your written goals? Some of you may, and others...well....start writing. I bet you made a “New Years Resolution.” Bah Humbug...talk is cheap that can't get you a quarter on a street corner.

Look...very simply put, if it is not written, it does not exist. How many resolutions have you accomplished? I lose every year...some weight, baggage, yadda yadda...truly and mostly mainly hot air. Resolutions are pipe dreams, the same as “unwritten goals” that … (3 comments)

High School Drop Out Gives Great Advice - 01/05/12 02:14 PM

I admit yes. I dropped out of High School but I did continue my education, went back to college, and the funny thing is I no longer work in the field my degree is in. In my home office I have a large library ranging from Marketing to Philosophy. I have also read quite a few books about World Leaders ranging from Presidents to Dictators, and I take the key golden nuggets to what made them rise to power.

So what does that have to do with this post? A great many things. Many Leaders have huge … (1 comments)

Have you ever had one of those moments...???? You know what I am talking about.... Yes you do.... You may have thought you were embarrassed in front of your friends, maybe your family, or possibly a perfect stranger.... You know who you are....

Right now you are probably thinking about something totally different than my point I will make in a second; however do you see how powerful a slight manipulation in words are?

What am I making reference to? Your creativity. I am sure you have had those AHA moments … (2 comments)
