My predictions for 2010. And no, I don't have a crystal ball! - 12/31/09 09:54 AM
Good morning! I hope you're well. It's still dark here although I know it will soon be light in the mornings again. Here goes. My predictions for 2010. And no, I don't have a crystal ball!
1) It will still be a pretty slow year in real estate. Sorry to disappoint folks but the fundamentals of the economy are still not that strong. Will 2010 be better than 2009? Yes, but marginally. Are there still opportunities to have a great year? Absolutely. In fact, I expect to have my best year yet.
2) Unemployment will stay at or near 10%. So … (6 comments)

2010 will be the best year of my life! - 12/30/09 11:38 AM
Good morning all: I hope you're well. Ok. It's out there. I said it. 2010 will be the best year of my life!
You can hold me to it. What made me decide to say this? After all, it's a big commitment. This morning I was reading perhaps my favorite online publication www.earlytorise.com and Michael Masterson said this is where you start. It's great and necessary to have goals. But it all starts with belief. And I sincerely believe that 2010 will be the best year of my life!
Why do I have confidence that the above statement will come true. … (6 comments)

Good riddance 2009! - 12/21/09 03:20 PM
Hi all: How are you? With 2009 almost complete, a lot of us are tired and worn out this time of year. I am too and it's been a pretty good year. Still, I think it's important to say "Good riddance 2009!"
Let's face it. We can't go back and relive the year. It's over. It's time to move on. Whatever type of year you had, acknowledge it and move on! As Satchel Paige, the immortal baseball pitcher once said "Don't look back, something might be gaining on you!"
For some of you, it might have been a good year. For others, a lousy one. … (6 comments)

Predictions for 2010? Would you like to hazard any guesses? - 12/16/09 10:37 AM
Good morning all! How are you? Things have warmed up here considerably. I still expect a relatively mild winter. I'm going to make some predictions for 2010. Feel free to weigh in with your thoughts.
First, even though Bernanke and company say we're on the mend, it will be a very slow recovery. Why do I say this? Look around you. Unemployment is still at or near 10%. Do I expect this to dramatically improve? No. It will likely take years before we get back to 5% or better. Second, the Federal Reserve has pledged to buy mortgage backed securities through March … (3 comments)

I know you don't want to hear this but what are you going to do for 2010? - 12/08/09 04:36 PM
Good afternoon. What a gorgeous day. It's freaking cold out (mid 20's) but the sky is so blue and the sun is so bright! I'll take it any day of the week! I was thinking that 2010 is just around the corner. It's amazing to me how quickly 2009 went! In fact, I know you don't want to hear this but what are you going to do for 2010?
For me, 2009 was a life saver for my business.  I remember sitting down with a good friend of mine (she's a financial advisor) and commenting to her that is was a … (3 comments)

"I blog therefore I am!" - 12/08/09 10:41 AM
Good morning everyone! I hope you're well. I'm sitting inside because it's 15 degrees outside. Yes, I know. It gets colder in other climes. We're just weather wimps up here! I was thinking this morning about why I blog. Thus, the title of the post "I blog therefore I am!".
Rene Descartes, one of the world's greatest philosophers once said "I think therefore I am". "I blog therefore I am" is obviously a take on this. But what does it mean?
Your blog should be a glimpse into what makes you tick. It should be personal. First, a few statistics. It … (7 comments)

Look around you. Joy is everywhere! - 12/01/09 10:14 AM
Hello! I was just shaving and it made me realize that there is joy everywhere; even in the smallest things. What brought this thought on, you ask? It never fails to happen that I start shaving just when my wife is leaving for work. And when she kisses me she gets shaving cream on her lips! I know it's a little thing but it's pretty funny to see the picture!
I don't know about you but I'm not sure I handle the holidays as well as I should. It's a busy time with a to-do list a mile long. I also … (7 comments)

The city of Bellevue comes alive this time of year! - 12/01/09 09:18 AM
Good morning! I hope you're well. I wanted to tell you a little about Bellevue, WA. and how it comes alive this time of year.
Over 30 years ago, one of Bellevue's leading citizens, Kemper Freeman, had a vision to turn Bellevue into one of the major retail centers in the nation. Kemper's idea was to make Bellevue like Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The first step was to reconfigure Bellevue Square. It is now one of the highest grossing malls in the nation. This was followed by the addition to the mall which added restaurants and even more shops. Across the street, … (3 comments)
